Hotel Furniture for The Sims:Hot Date

UPDATED 03/22/02

The zip files below contain modified objects for The Sims: Hot Date.  They are objects designed for use in a downtown hotel that Maxis never enabled for downtown use.

I have enabled them for downtown use, and better yet, tweaked them so the Sims will use them more wisely.  That might make these a little better than other people's downtown enabled furniture.  Each object has its own internal advertising system that helps a Sim decide whether or not to use it at any particular time.  I modified these, using Blueprint's MenuEdit to make their use more sane.

When I first downtown-enabled the furniture, I was able to use them, but the townies and other non-playing Sims behaved very strangely.  For instance, they would head straight for the espresso machine (included below) and start drinking until they pissed all over themselves, then drink some more, never getting tired.  I had the same problem with the Pepsi Machine.  I fixed that.  I also fixed the beds so that Sims would be less inclined to go to bed on an empty stomach.  Before I modified them, the Townies used to jump in bed, get a little food balloon over their head (because they were too hungry to sleep), jump out of bed, smooth the covers, and then go right back to bed again without getting something to eat.  With my beds, they don't do that as often.  They will do it occasionally but not as frequently.  I'm still tweaking with this so I might need to update it later.

I'll probably have a tutorial at some point explaining how to do this yourself.  If you can't wait, the information is in countless threads on the forums.

By the way, these are all very fun to use at home, too!  Your guests can turn on the television, go to bed for the night, wake up and have breakfast for you and then take a shower.  You can keep guests at your house for days if you play it right.

NEWEST ITEMS ARE AT THE BOTTOM

d1.zip
This includes the vibrating bed.

d2.zip
This includes the espresso machine, the computer, the guitar, and the four-person hot tub.

d3.zip
This includes the Pepsi vending machine, the shower, the voodoo doll and the television.  Maxis included a television, but mine is better because you can turn it on yourself and change the channels!

d4.zip
This includes the Four-Poster Castle Bed and the Mission Bed.

d5.zip
This includes three single beds.  The Spartan Bed (cheap), the Cast-Iron Bed, and the Antique Bed.

d6.zip
This includes the folding painting easel.

d7.zip
This includes the cheap shower, the cheap bathtub, the moderately-priced Sani-Queen bathtub, and the antique bathtub.

d8.zip
This includes the large expensive one-person bathtub.

d9.zip
This includes the Queen Vivanco Roses.  These are VERY INTERESTING.  If you place these downtown, the Townies will begin spontaneously falling in love with each other.  Maxis already makes the Queen Vivanco Roses available downtown, but they didn't enable the secret "Give Someone a Rose" command for Townie use.  Here it is enabled.  You will see what I mean.

lovetub.zip
This includes a downtown-enabled love tub.  This one was hacked with Script Station so it will work right downtown.
