Martin Luther King, Jr.

Wow, this essay would *so* not be politically correct today. So, *please* don't throw stones at me for this, I wrote it in 4th grade (~1994), didn't know any better for terminology use, and apparently the teacher and parents thot it was okay. Anyway, again sorry for the crappiness of the writing and the political incorrectness.

Introduction

This is my report about Martin Luther King, Jr. In Martin’s younger years he was called ML. Martin was known for his truthfulness and his ability to speak out without difficulty. He paid very close attention in school, so he grew to know a lot. He led marches for Negroes’ rights, and stood up for what he believed in. Martin, later on in his life, was assassinated. And that ended Martin Luther King, Jr.’s life.

I chose to read about and write about Martin Luther King, Jr. because he did a lot in his life and I was curious about him. It also happened to be the one [book] I grabbed.

When I read about Martin Luther King Jr., I learned that he was called M.L. when he was a kid. He went through a lot of hard times in his childhood. And he grew up to be a natural leader. Martin was a very talented man.

Childhood

When Martin was little he had a white boy as a friend. One day his friend’s parents said they couldn’t be able to play anymore. Martin was confused by this, so he went home and asked his mother about it. His mother told him about blacks and whites. This had a great affect on Martin.

Martin liked to go to church to listen to his father. Later on he became Rev.

Accomplishments

(Adult)

This is what Martin accomplished during his life. He helped free the Negroes from slavery. He led marches in the streets for Negroes’ rights. He showed they couldn’t be pushed around and not treated fairly. He helped people feel they could stand up for their rights. He was thrown in jail all lot but he never gave up. Martin proved to be a good leader when he helped to get closer for freedom for the Negroes.

Adulthood

This is about Martin’s adulthood. He helped people standup for their rights. He helped lead marches in the streets and got thrown in. And when he got out he didn’t give up.

Martin had a wife and children. His wife was Coretta and their children were Bernice Albertine, Dexter Scott, Yalanda Denise, and Martin Luther III.

He led Civil rights Crusade. He also led a boycott of the buses. He worked hard to change the law, so they could be treated fairly.
