Good and Evil

This I wrote as encouragement to a friend when she was feeling really down. She said it helped, so I'm glad for that. (Written: about freshman/sophomore yr of HS).

There's always a bright side. There could not be happiness and joy without pain and despair. One contrasts the other, yet they compliment each other perfectly. It's a timeless, symbiotic relationship that will thrive and survive throughout eternity. A constant battle, an ageless battle, but a war which neither can win, for if it was won by one or the other, the winner would control the world, causing chaos and catastrophe. Black against white, good against evil, night against day, without one there could never be the other. We would not appreciate joy if we did not have sadness to make us see just what luck we can have. Things will get better. They must get better. One feeling may dominate the other at times, but both are always there, forever and eternally. Some of us are chosen to be bringers of one or the other, though, and I feel my place is to make people aware of the darker side, but I do have good and light and happiness within me, otherwise I'd have killed myself by now. You must find what it is YOU were meant to do, and then, when times get tough, keep ahold of that thought and never let it go, no matter what. You will be watched over and protected, always. Either by light or dark. And, contrary to some people's beliefs, dark is NOT always death. It can be as loving and passionate as light. As protective and helpful. As kind and generous. Light also has all these qualities, but it is not to say that light does NOT cause pain and suffering. For some, it may. For me, I accept it. It is part of me and always will be. But the dark is what is dominant. And, with accepting these facts, I also accept myself and what I am; who I am. I believe that no matter what happens someone is ALWAYS there to care for you. Always. Dark and Light, Good and Evil. . . If you ask me, I can't see much of a difference, except by people's differing opinions of them. You'll get through all the bad times, for there is good at the end. It cannot stay bad forever, just as it cannot stay good forever. Or, via the bad you might find the good, or more importantly, Yourself. I did. The move, and everything else that has happened during this time, has made me realize just what and who I am, my goals, and my life. I hope you find who you truly are. And remember, you are never alone. I will, no matter what happens, be here for you. I am the Nightwolf. Your friend; your confidant. Do not be a stranger; you can talk to me about whatever it is that troubles you.
