Space Date 041103: Docking Bay OSU VTH, 1100-1300 hrs

Today was the first day volunteering at the OSU Vet Teaching Hospital this term. Didn't do a whole lot, but they said they should be busy this term, so hopefully things will pick up a bit. Most of today was spent watching a pre-purchase exam. They looked the horse over for general soundness (muscles symmetry, good hooves, etc.), checked its eyes, did flexion tests, and checked its teeth and ears. That's all I was there for, anyway.

After this I only had 15 minutes left until I had to leave, so I followed around C--, who was giving a foal KPen (sp?), and checking on the other horses. The foal had dislocated its carpus and was only 2-3 days old. Poor little guy, what a way to start a life, eh? Anyway, that's all for today! More later!
