"Grandma, will you tell us a story?" asked little Tom.
"Yeah," said Mary.
"Please," said Nick.
"Okay," said grandma.
"Tell us the one about how you got made into a pickle and came back here, grandma," said Mary.
"Alright," said grandma.
"Okay... Well it all started way back when I was a little seed. They planted me in some soft, moist dirt. They watered me and I grew and grew until I started to sprout. They watered me until I grew into a big plant. Then I grew into a cucumber. They picked me. Then they put me in a sack with a whole bunch of other cucumbers. I was moved onto the back of a truck where there were other sacks full of cucumbers. Then we started moving very fast, I tried to see where we were going but everthing was a blur. And then about after an hour we stopped. I was unloaded, and put in a machine. The machine took me on a convayer belt, and washed me and scrubbed me, dryed me, put me in a jar with a whole bunch of other pickles and put juice in with us. That was the scary part because I thought I was going to drown but I didn’t. Then they put a lid on us and I thought I’d never escape. Next they put us in a box and then took us, loaded us on a truck and then we went on an hour drive. Next thing I knew I was sitting on a shelf in which seemed to be a grocering store. I had no hope of escaping until a little girl dropped the jar on the floor. It broke. The little girl screamed. I was so scared I rolled and rolled until I got back here.
"Now that’s the whole story. Well, how did you like it?"
"It was great, grandma," said little Tom.
"Right, grandma, it was terrific," said Mary.
"Can you tell us another on?" asked Nick.
"Sure," said grandma.
"Once upon a time..."
