Saga-like Poem

Okay, this was going to be some sort of saga poem (thus the pseudo-title), that went on and told a story and wotnot, but I lost interest after a while, and never got around to finishing it. I don't know if I ever will. It doesn't really have a title, because generally I title my works when they are finished, and since this isn't finished... well, you get the idea. This is also still very rough, because, again, it isn't finished. Anyway, hope you like wot I have! (Written: most likely sometime around 1/18/00).

I.

The Night is long
And the darkness holds
A possession so deep
It has yet to be told

It’s a story so hidden
It seems surreal
But the story needs out
That’s why I’ll reveal

A tale that has
A beginning in light
Roots in phenomenons
And ending in plight

No one ever believes
This story I tell
Of Lonesome Light’s wandering
Into that enchanted spell

This story of innocence
Found and lost
Of young lives taken
And warm hearts tossed

Will chill you
Thrill you
Captivate your mind
And intrigue you with rhyme

Yet no one will shut-down their logic
Open their mind
Ignore common sense
And dare to find

Something people call fantasy
What they pass off as imagination
What only a few listen to
With believing fascination

So here begins
A story of worth
A tale to be told
Of life and death on earth.

II.

It all began, long ago
In a time of enchantment and spells
When still rivers were free to flow
And where the land of magic dwells

In this Age of wonder true
Lives beings of every kind
From dragons and fairies blue
To vampires; where in here you’ll find

That through this land runs a magic
More powerful than one can imagine
And from this wizardry springs story tragic
But today is only memories of passion

This story tells of love so true
It can melt hearts of steel
It comes from under skies of blue
And above the seas of teal

Listen carefully now
To how this all began
And through your minds I will plow
A tale of life and love and tragic end.
