Lewis Boat Works: Custom Boat building and Plans

This is PodYak12, a 12 foot single person kayak shaped like a peapod. In the picture above, the top panel(s) are either a flat or curved single panel or the mirror of the bottom panels. Once the top panels are fitted properly (but not attached), the hole for the cockpit is cut and a combing can be installed. A keel strip or even a small skeg can be fitted for increased directional stability if desired. Simple frames are fitted after the bottom and two side panels are sewn and filleted together and before the top panels are installed permanently.
