The Wizard and his Pet were very happy.  They had had long  talks together and come to new understandings.  So everything in West Wanton was fine.  Pet was learning the ways of the Wizard and he never ceased to amaze her.  She was aware that he could fly although she had never seen him; she was aware that he could make gold; although she had never seen that either.  She was also aware that he could do many, many more wonderous things.
One day Pet asked the Wizard..."Is it true that you can change into any form or shape".  "But of course, my Pet" the wizard answered.  "Why...do you want to trade me in for a younger model?" he continued smiling.   "But of course not" Pet answered hurriedly...I was just wondering..thats all".
The Wizard looked at his adoring Pet and said  "Ok little one...I will show you..but you must show no fear...or you will never see me again.  Do you understand?"  "Yes, Maestro" Pet said.
Pet closed her eyes as the wizard instructed for 5 seconds and when she opened them there was this beautiful goldfinch flying around over her head.  She kept her calm and was not frightened but then the blight of her life arrived, the pesky cat.  The cat was eying the bird with a mischevious look on his face.  Pet, quickly picked up the pesky cat and threw him outside........still showing no fear and still keeping calm.
The Wizard changed himself back into his loveable self and Pet was so relieved.  "Oh Maestro" she said...."whilst the goldfinch
was so very pretty....I am so glad to see you again.  I hope you will never, ever leave me".  The Wizard responded.  "My Pet, I am so very, very proud of you.  You did what you were told and carried out my instructions faultlessly.  Taking her hand into his he continued "and as a reward.....we are going on a long journey together."  Pet looked at the Wizard and asked curiously "Where are we going?" hoping it wouldn't be somewhere boring, or to visit folk like he had at that dinner party.  "I am taking you to WONDERLAND Pet....but remember ...that West Wanton will always be our home" he concluded.
