GREETINGS FROM LONDON!

I'm now over a month into my English BA course at University College London and having a great time. I'm living in Ramsay Hall, a catered hall of residence less than five minutes from the main university buildings on Gower Street. Currently I'm studying modules in Old English, Narrative Texts (Paradise Lost at the moment), Approaches to Criticism and Intellectual and Critical Sources. None of my work this year counts towards my final exam grade but I have to pass exams at the end of the year to continue into the second year.

I'm as busy as ever here, and have made plenty of friends. I'm keeping up my musical interests by performing in the Jazz Band and the Symphony Chorus, and I have concerts coming up in each of these. Next year I might get to go on tour in Eastern Europe which would be a fantastic opportunity.

I'm also involved in the Christian scene at UCL. I regularly attend City Gates Church, a member of the Ichthus Fellowship that meets every Sunday in the Comedy Store in Soho. Through the Church i've become involved in a Cell Group and I am also a member of the UCL Christian Union.

I also hope to get involved in student journalism at some point and contribute to the Creative Writing magazine. In between pursuing all of these interests I also enjoy making the most of the student scene in London, sampling the nightlife.........

The term ends on the 13th of December so I'll be back there and hopefully catching up with all my mates who've dispersed to far flung places (like Wales).

Will keep you updated with everything that's going on,

Love Heather x
