?
It's only begun
But we've been here before.
We know what to say
And how to look when we
talk.
It'll be second nature
We've done this before
We could close our eyes
And rehearse it as we go.
You'll say hey
And I'll say ah
We're acting our parts
The scene of hello and
goodbye
How come we know so much?
When did we get all this
down?
How come we know what's
going to happen
And not even have won a
lottery before now?
It's probably instinct
we know
Born and trained we are
In the arts of humility
and careful grace.
We'll never lose our faces
We've got this down pat.
You'll say hello
And I'll say goodbye
We know each other so very
well
We've known this would
happen.
Couldn't we tell?
The stage is set
The crowd's not going home
Let's give them something
to remember us by
A little piece of what
they came for
"I love you... I love
you not"
"Either way, my friend,
it'll never happen
I kid you not."
