RHINOCEROS
by Eugene Ionesco
Without
warning, a rhinoceros charges into a quiet Parisian town – what does the
presence of this savage, irrational beast mean? And where did it come from?
Just when the rubble is swept away, another rhinoceros charges –
followed by another and another – the wild rhinos rampage the town, chaos
ensues as the citizens run berserk transforming into more rhinos to join the
outrageous herd – the rhinos crush the world as we know it leaving
nothing but comic absurdity in their wake – in the end, one man and one
woman are left alone - or are they?
