Points Breakdown

The National Forensics League has a strict points system that allows students and coaches to accumulate points. As more points are earned, the student or coach moves up in degree, which adds to the teams overall strength. Below is the breakdown of the seven different degrees:.

Degrees: title, points needed, color of the stone(s), & your contribution to the overall team strength

Quint Ruby -- Premier Distinction -- 1500 or more points -- 8 degrees

Quad Ruby -- Outstanding Distinction -- 1000-1499 points -- 7 degrees

Triple Ruby -- Superior Distinction -- 750-999 points -- 6 degrees

Double Ruby -- Special Distinction -- 500-749 points -- 5 degrees

Ruby -- Distinction -- 250-499 points -- 4 degrees

Sapphire -- Excellence -- 150-249 points -- 3 degrees

Emerald -- Honor -- 75-149 points -- 2 degrees

No Stone -- Merit -- 25-74 points -- 1 degree
