Joshua P. Vance

Yes, Mr. Vance has now become the second of my former roommates to tie the knot (soon to be follow by a third, Mr. Ben Shaw). However, this is no ordinary marriage, for Joshua has taken on not only the responsibilities of a husband, but also those of babysitter and guardian. That's right, his wife is a teenager (Ashley, the wisest and most beautiful woman in Burlington, IA, who will understand a slam to Josh and recognize its irrelevence to her). I recall back to our college days, when we all knew that Josh, along with two or three of our other friends, found himself increasingly interested in freshman girls as the years continued. Through these experiences, he has embraced a passion for the youth of America like no other before or since, and lives everyday as a servant to the cause.

An Anonymous ONU Admission Counselor

About two months ago, I received the following e-mail from a ONU admission counselor, who I will not name: "Texas chic and I broke up about a month & a half ago. So feel free to spread the word that Asher is available (cellphone: 815-603-ADAM)". After considering the message, I came to the conclusion that this young man has pioneered a truly great field of discovery: that of the self-promoting phone number. How much easier would it be to call people if all you had to do is dial their names!
