Jason Bohn brought in new breathes of air when AED went through crisis during the "Emotional Masquerade" recording sessions. In a stage in which such anger and angst entered the studio with AED guitarist, D.S. Culliton, Patrick felt like quitting and never releasing any form of the record. As Culliton quit, leaving his work with AED unfinished, Bohn came in with a perseverance in getting the record finished. After the record was released Patrick and Bohn started again writing under the name Thane, making simple punk music with an experimental and dark edge.
