This book is for beginners to electronics and is clearly written so that you won't find yourself lost. The Babani electronics series of books are an excellent source of information, they are very cheap at around £4 or $6 and the many books in the series cover topics from soldering to using PICs.

Practical electronic projects that use PIC microcontrollers. Yet another Babani series book, I had to include this one as PICs are one of the most interesting areas of digital electronics. Comprising of a simple microprocessor, a PIC can be programmed to perform a multitude of different tasks, the scope of using these components is imense.

Synopsis As the title depicts, there are 12 diferent projects in the book ranging from telepresence robots (robots that are controlled remotely) to neural network implementation in robots. This is a great book for someone who is very serious about robots and wants to delve in to some of the newest techniques of accomplishing Artificial Intelligence of which neural networks is one of these techniques.
