Bumper Smith's Tequila Sheila is a gripping story. A story of
friendships, struggle, joy, beauty, addiction sadness, and loss. A story we can see on the
streets everyday, if we just stopped to look. A story of life.
On the road, riding with the wind, meeting people and making friends along the way. This is Bumper's life. Arriving in New
Orleans with $5.00 in his pocket he meets Shine, "Hey, man let me fix up those boots
for you." And he does, much to Bumper's surprise.
Sheila appears, ragged, dirty, crying. Someone knocked her down and stole her necklace. Feeling sorry for the bedraggled girl and concerned
over her skinned and bleeding knees, Bumper offers first aid.
Giving in to Tequila Sheila's request for a ride on his bike, and offer of a tour of
"New Orlean'" he meets Officer Larry Robert, a member of the Blue Knights.
Bumper Smith takes you on a thrill ride through the hard life on the streets as he and his new found friend, Officer
Robert, attempt to reach through the bonds of addiction and retrieve one of the lost who wander
there.
Reading Tequila Sheila, I laughed, I cried, and through eyes and talents of a gifted writer, met some wonderful people and gained an insight into
a foreign world. Don't miss this story.
