In
these difficult times we face critical issues about war, peace, security,
jobs, corporate welfare, international relations, freedom, and human dignity.
We can lose our focus when we become preoccupied.. It is important to
consider our responsibilities to our communities, neighbors, friends, and
especially to the next generation...our children. The positions we take on these issues become more
essential when we think about the future and the people we care about.
It is difficult to
maintain club members at two-year colleges, but these social and
intellectual connections can provide firm foundations for lifetime commitments
to freedom, human rights, community service, and justice.
We invite teachers, students,
alumni, friends, and other interested parties to
contact the members of The
Proposed Amnesty International Student Club. We will have a recruiting
drive this fall to bolster our membership, find a student organizer, and
provide our college community with exposure to the aims and goals of this
international service organization.
We will add to this page
as our our membership grows. One important way of implementing civic
responsibility can be through service learning
opportunities here at PCC. Thanks, and we look forward to your
participation!
