Untitled Design
I did this picture as a favor to some kids I used to work with at my church in California. I've done a couple of t-shirt designs for them in the past, and even though I'm living thousands of miles away, I promised to do another one for them.

The kids actually came up with the idea for the picture, and one gal, Chelsea, insisted that a banana peel be featured.

The idea came from a Bible passage, 1 Corinthians 4:13 "...the scum of the earth, the refuse of the world." (Read the surrounding text here, if you're interested.) I'm pretty proud of these kids, to tell the truth. They came up with this idea in much the same way I came up with the Eyes of Your Heart idea (which can be seen here), except they actually did me one better and had an idea for a picture that actually relates to the words!

Adventures in Filing With Buuud
I did this pic for some folks I worked with in a fileroom during one of my first jobs here in Chicago. What a great crew for a fileroom! A bunch of silly pranksters who actually like to talk while they work, even if the actual job is about as braindead and often frustrating as it gets.

While I was working with these folks, at some point, I got nicknamed "Buuud", like Bud, except more drawn out and funky. This reminded me of the the hapless young friend of Rudy Huxtable (from the Cosby Show in the 80's) who was forced to go by the name of Buuud, even though his name was actually Kenny. There was a scene once where Rudy was teasing Kenny, saying "Buuuuud!" and Kenny would retort with "My name is Kenny!"

This exchange, it turns out, has a nice little beat to it, so every so often I would get down with a little "running man" and rap "Buuuud! My name is Kenny! "Buuuud! My name is Kenny!"

They decided I was strange enough to work with them. Sadly, my assignment lasted only one more day.
