WHAT WE MISSED: PART ONE

NGPC had many great items planned for Fall 2000. That is, until Aruze (SNK's parent company) closed down SNK International and made NGPC exclusive to Japan. By doing this, I'm sure Aruze realizes that it will be very hard to re-enter the International market if they ever do. Here's what we missed:

NGPC MP3

MP3s and NeoGeo Pocket: a match made in heaven. NGP didn't have a big-hit title like Gameboy (namely Pokemon), but the MP3 player could have helped them quite a lot. The MP3 player would have 32 MB (upgradeable to 64 MB) and could have been used in future games. It would have been a bit expensive, though.

Biomotor Unitron 2

Biomotor Unitron was a great RPG and the sequel looked to be a major improvement. The graphics and storyline were improved, and the characters looked a lot better. Rumor has it that Biomotor 2 will be released in the U.S. by Yumekobo (the developers of Biomotor Unitron), since only SNK was closed down in the states.

Biomotor Unitron 2

Dynamite Slugger featured great graphics, gameplay, and many teams (the usual for NGP). It's a baseball game where you play one team and go against another team in vs. mode, tournament, and other modes (y'know, baseball). It looked like it would be a great game, just like every other NGP game. Click here to go back to LarseNet. Click here to go to PART TWO. Click here to go to PART THREE.
