I've heard this sountrack of this game called "cheese metal" before, and I've even heard people say that they wished there were some rap songs in the soundtrack (which I feel defeats the whole purpose of the game's theme entirely). I can only conclude that the people who have said these things have little, or no appreciation/understanding of what rock/heavy metal is. This second CD has become another of my favorites. One of the best songs on it is probably "Awe of She". Some of the returning characters keep their old themes, while others have new ones.
Incidentally, there are two versions of the GGX soundtrack. The "Guilty Gear X Original SoundTrack" is from the arcade version, and contains all synthized music. The "Guilty Gear Heavy Rock Tracks" is the Home console version, and contains all real instruments and is performed by a Japanese band called "Lapis Lazuli". Aurally, I think this version is much better. Once again, you can get both versions at Animenation.com
