Long ago Jedah died. He was a member of the third family that ruled the darkrealm (the other two being Morrigan and Demetri's), and supposedly it was his death that brought about the war. Now he is ressurected, and looks in disgust at the horrible world around him. He then decides the only way to save these creatures is to unite all souls into one being, only then would world violence and conflict be ceased. He creates a void called "Damned Dimension", and has worthy spirits battle each other so that he may unite with their strength and create a container capable of holding all the tortured spirits.
The main boss of the game, the sadomasochistic Jedah is self destructive enough to make Heero Yuy look like a care bear. Who else would scratch out their own eyes, and laugh hysterically at the sight of their own blood--because they WON a match, or would decapitate themselves on a regular basis, simply to counter an attack? Yes, Jedah just loves the sight of his own blood, almost as much as he does, yours...hey, he's a vampire!
Also, his life's ambition as a villian is very unsual compared to the norm...he's not out to conquer the world, he's not taking revenge on anyone, he's not out to destroy humanity, he isn't even acting out of greed. No Jedah is determined to save the souls of the tormented!
Despite the fact that Jedah's mission seems one of benevolence, he does seem rather evil. Note quotes such as "I understand your opinion-I just don't care about it!", and "Hipocrisy? No it's not, there's no good or evil!". I, however think he's nuttier than a Payday bar, but he's one of my more favorite characters in the game. Excellent design (I think the coolest boss next to Justice), with equally odd moves, Jedah is also a high skill level character. Sure he looks cheap, but controling him is another story altogether. Timing and moderation is crucial with Jedah. you can't be cheap with Jedah! being cheap will get you killed! By that I mean constantly playing keep away, constantly jumping, constantly combo-ing, ect.. You must find a sense of balance with Jedah. When you do, he is a formidable opponent capable of awing crowds, when you don't, you could mop the kitchen floor with him! Jedah is clearly NOT a character for button mashers...

NOTE: there have been questions as to what language the names of Jedah's moves are. Well, I have established that most of them are Italian, but some don't seem to be, and, as my mom says (she studied a little Italian) some look made up or look like they were mixed with Spanish. I've translated (to the best of my ability with a dictionary)them quite literally here, and have color coded corresponding words:

Jedah impales his arm on his wing and flings the blood forward, it turning into two circular blades. The range varies with the attack button pressed, and whether it was thrown in the air or on the ground.
Finale Rosso---------Finale Red:
Jedah reaches into the ground and summons forth hands made of blood, which then grab his opponent, drags them underneath a huge puddle of blood, and begin to beat him/her up. All the while Jedah laughs that hysterical, disturbing laugh of his.
