GARVEY'S VOICE
A UNIA-ACL Official Publication

Greetings to Div. Presidents & Members of the UNIA-ACL

As the Managing Editor of the Garvey's Voice Newspaper, I am happy to inform you all that the Publications Editor Of Garvey's Voice Bro. Zama Cook has the paper off the Press. The first issue was released in May 2004. Each division or marketing UNIA-ACL representative will be charged the wholesale cost of .50 cents per paper and sell the paper for $1.00 retail. In addition each division or representive will be billed the shipping cost of the paper. All these arrangements can be established by emailing us at Garveyvioce@starpower.net or calling me at 202-829-7204. Zama Cook can also be contacted at 202-635-7344. The Garvey's Voice will be shipped from Washington DC unless specific arrangements are made to have them picked up by you or we are able to get them to you without having to mail them to you.

We will be mailing a formal notice with advertise details and a copy of the paper to every division of the UNIA-ACL for your review. Once we have received your request for the amount of papers you would like and your advance payment for them we will send the paper to you with an invoice and bill for the cost of shipping the paper to you to be paid to the Garvey's Voice (Parent Body UNIA-ACL). We will also in some area's be using outlets as well as representives who are active members of the UNIA-ACL to sell the Garvey's Voice on the streets. The Parent Body along with the staff of Garvey's Voice wish to thank all of you whom made contributions to this issue and continue to incourage you all to become more involved in this collective process. Many of you are aware of the history of the Negro World Newspaper and it's impact on our race development. Today we have the WWW.NEGROWORLD.COM on line thanks to the great works of Brother Steven Golding and the A. L. Crawford Division 404 of NY. The Garvey's Voice has also had a rich history since the 1950's up to 1993. It is our plans to make some of these back issues available for you this year for your study and for others to see the consistent works, words and deeds between the years 1957 and 1993.

With the support of all UNIA-ACL divisions and members around the world we can and plan to keep Garvey's Voice in print and make it a resourcefull business means for the Parent Body of the UNIA-ACL. We look to hear from each of you and think you all will appreciate the content of this edition of the Garvey's Voice.

One God One Aim One Destiny,

Bro. Senghor Jawara Baye EL Managing Editor GV & 3rd Assistant President General UNIA-ACL

EDITOR'S NOTE ...by Zama Cook

As we embark on this journey to aid and assist in the re-education and the organizing of our many scattered masses, we look forward to this great and mighty task with a great vigor and determination. This publication has as its history a legacy that begs no comparison. We believe that we have an obligation to bring you the truth, and without fear of intimidation or retribution from those who fear such, or those who seek to continually mis-lead or mis-direct your energies. Such being the case, we will deal with every aspect of that which affects us in this land, and around the world. We are determined to see the liberation of the minds of our people wherever they find themselves on this planet.

We will bring to you the best that our people have to offer. Without fail- the best writers, thinkers, artists, educators, activists, youth, elders, women, speakers, and organizers- from top to bottom, will seek to open your mind and move you forward to concrete action. It is a major undertaking, but one which we intend to fulfill without a shred of hesitation. We invite you to take this journey with us.

Marcus Mosiah Garvey saw the way and passed it on. We only have a duty to finish the journey and the plan that has been laid out for us. Are you ready? Africa for the Africans... Those at Home... And those Abroad!

This is the GARVEY'S VOICE. The official publication of the UNIA-ACL.
