"Happy hooker HEIDI FLEISS is back in the news. Well, she's back in the gossip news, anyway. MSNBC's Jeanette Walls reports that the former Hollywood madam is going online, and this time she's naming names--those of her celebrity clientele, that is. Apparently she's hooking up (pun intended, thank you very much) with the bastion of fine taste, Club Love.com (the site best known for posting nude pictures of Dr. Laura Schlessinger and Tommy and Pamela Lee's honeymoon tapes). A spokesperson for the site promised, 'She'll be sharing lots of her secrets.' No date has been set." {scroll down}
Former Hollywood madam (click)and purveyor of flannel jammies HEIDI FLEISS is suing E! Entertainment Television for slander. FLEISS claims that the net labeled her a "snitch" in an episode of "The E! True Hollywood Story." Apparently, the one-hour special featured a false reenactment of Fleiss getting wired by the LAPD to bust local drug dealers. The New York Post, who broke the slander story, says Fleiss, who served two years in jail for tax evasion, money laundering, and attempted pandering, claims that the show's content caused her to "fear for her life" during her incarceration.
Posted March 29, 2000 - Tipworld Proudly presents: Video Rental Recommendations - WAG THE DOG - (1997--Comedy) Director: Barry Levinson - Cast: Dustin Hoffman, Robert De Niro, Anne Heche MPAA rating: R. We loved the sly humor in this one. The joke isn't overdone, and it's deeply funny and ironic--even when you're thinking about it on the commute the next day. A Hollywood producer (Hoffman) is hired by the White House to stage a fake military campaign in order to distract the general public from some nasty allegations about the President and a girl scout. Woody Harrelson and Willie Nelson have great cameos, and while you're belly laughing your way through this one, you'll also find yourself thinking that all this could probably happen. Published by none other than the Amsterdam police and written by one of their own, the guide details how to enjoy the shadier side of the city safely. The Police Red Light Guide, written in English, dispenses advice such as from whom you can safely buy marijuana and cautions against assuming that all the women in the windows are actually of the female gender. The book is due out by the beginning of the summer tourist season. For information on how to obtain a copy, visit the Web site of the Amsterdam tourist board at visitamsterdam."
Posted June 29, 2000 - (It's enough to boycott Amsterdam!) - "TODAY'S TIP: RED-LIGHT GUIDE WON'T SEE PRINT AFTER ALL- In a previous tip, I reported on a red-light district safety guide that an Amsterdam police officer wrote and that the city police department planned to publish. After the guide received international publicity, the department has backed down and declared that it does not want to publish anything that appears to condone in any way the prostitution and marijuana sales that occur in the district--even if those activities are legal. For the disappointed, there's no word on whether the officer plans to self-publish the guide. By Tom Hinds" - tips@tipworld.com.
