 Frank, the Maintanence Supervisor

Hi there!  I am Frank, the tool man, Korb.  That is at least what my wife calls me.  I am the maintenance supervisor at the Alexander City First United Methodist Church.  My job is changing light bulbs.  Just kidding.  My job is supervising the maintenance functions of FUMC.  The church has  a pre-school program called Jacob's Ladder, 4 apartments, The Arbor, the Scout Hut and the Church building itself that I take care of.  FUMC is located at 310 Green Street.

Frank, the Family Man

I am married to Karen.  She teaches High School Spanish/English and also teaches English Composition at Central Alabama Community College.  I have a daughter, Amy Michelle.  She is married to Steven Willey.  Steven is in the Air Force and right now they are stationed in Ft. Walton Beach, FL.  I also have three step-children and five grand-children.  Eric and Roulain have four children, (Jasmine, Taylor, Hayden and Hannah and they call me Poppa Frank), Jenifer and Sam have one son, (Austin), and Kathryn and her husband Brian have no children.  She teaches Kindergarten Special Ed....nuff said?

  Frank, the Romantic

My wife, Karen, performed July 4th 2002 at Thunder on the Hooch in Phenix City, AL.  The concert was for about 45,000 people and she was a wreck.  We had been scrapping all day long and after the concert...when they hit the last note of their song...fireworks were shot up over the banks of the Chattahoochee River.  It was at that precise moment....carefully orchestrated by me...that I asked her to marry me...and she said, "yes!"  What a moment!

Frank, the Sports Fanatic

I love HOCKEY!  Not just any hockey....I love the DETROIT REDWINGS!  I also love the Florida State Seminoles!  On any given Saturday during the fall you will find me glued to the tube watching college football.  I love it!!!!  When I am not watching football, I am watching hockey.  I have a 47" big screen television with surround sound and it the next best thing to being at Bobby Bowden-Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee, FL.  On Monday nights you will find me bowling.  I bowl with John Naler, Terry Yates, and Bruce Poppel.  We have a great time setting them up and knocking them down.  Thursday nights I referee Co-ed church league Volleyball at the Arbor.  I have even been known to coach Upward Basketball a season or two.

Frank, the Musicman

I was fortunate enough to play clarinet with the Choctawhatchee Style Marchers in Ft. Walton Beach, FL while I was in high school.  We played for the Miami Dolphins, at the Macy's Day Parade, and were ranked number one in the nation.  GO Big Green Indians!  I took up the bass guitar a couple of years ago and like sitting around thumping the bass with other musicians.  I sing bass in the Celebration Choir at the 8:30 service of the First United Methodist Church.  I am a sound technician for the Arbor Praise and Worship Service, weddings, and other services as needed, and I am a roadie/sound tech for my wife's trio, Still Magnolias.

Frank, the Fireman/EMT

When I got out of the Navy I returned to my hometown of Fort Walton Beach, FL and became a firefighter/EMT.  I worked for Ocean City Wright Fire Control District for 8 years.  My wife's favorite firefighting story is one where we rushed into a burning house thinking there was a child trapped inside.  I found an arm, grabbed the child, rushed outside, placed the youngster on the ground, threw off my mask and was preparing to give CPR when I realized I had saved a life-sized baby doll.  The newspaper had a field day with this story.  Ahhh, the life of a firefighter.  There is never a dull moment.  I made it to engineer before injuring myself in a friendly game of flag football and thus ending my firefighting career.

Frank, the Traveler

There is country song that says, "I've been everywhere man..." and that certainly applies to me.  I was born in  Ryukyus Army Hospital, Uchitomari, Okinawa.  My dad was in the Air Force and during my childhood we lived in New Mexico, Germany, Tampa and Fort Walton Beach.  After graduating from high school I too was in the Navy and stationed in San Diego at the 32nd St. Naval Base.  While in the Navy I saw Australia, Vietnam, Hawaii, and many other ports of call.  I returned to Fort Walton and eventually moved to Charleston, SC.  In Charleston I became an OTR (Over the Road Driver).  As an OTR I have been to 44 of the 48 continental states and Canada.  In 2000 I moved to Alabama and learned what traveling was all about.  In 2003 I married the Queen of Road Trips.  There has not been a dull moment since.
