Interesting Traffic Signal Installations!
Here's an interesting setup for a pedestrian signal. Its mounted on the end of a mast arm usually used for mounting a vechicular signal. Most pedestrian signals are mounted with small arms on the top and bottom of the signal. (see photos) (this example is based on the mounting methods I have viewed in the city of Toronto.)
Here's a very weird setup for vechicular signals. Some of the heads are mounted vertically while some are mounted horizontally! Very confusing! Also noteice the use of 3M signals on the left.
I think this unit has the most number of signals ever put onto a signal head. It has 14 lamps in total! I believe this one signal has protected left and right turn indications as well as pedestrian movements!
I find this setup sort of odd, the use of black 8" poly signals for transit traffic, I would think maybe the drivers from out of town might get confused. (the transit signals are the two small black signals with the green ball indications to the left of the pole)
