HALL GOVERNOR - OKPARA HALL
BALEWA HALL Governor Nneka Ezora talks about the problems she has been facing in government. She also illuminates on her achievements so far as governor of the Hall.
Reporter:Can you tell us about the history of this Hall?
Nneka:The Hall was built the 1960. It was originally meant for nursing mothers and was the first female hostel in the University.
Reporter: What problems have you and your government been facing since you assumed power?
Nneka:We've not had much problems. The only problems we've had are those concerning power supply, water, and sanitation. We've had water problems in the past, and in order to forestall this we've gotten a 1,000m litres tank. The Sanitation in our hostel is also improving by the day.
Reporter: I assume that since you've not had much problems, then you must have achieved little so far in your administration?
Nneka:No, the problems that were there before our assumption, we have soleved as i mentioned earlier. Also we have placed burglary proofs in windows, changed the rugs in the lounge, provided table tennis tables. Apart from this the Hall also has a kitchnet. As stated earlier, we've purchased 1,000 litres and erected concrete stands for the storage tank for water, so as to ease the water problems.
In addition to these, we subscribed for the DSTV which is part of entertaining the students.
Reporter:Where do you think the government of the school should put more efforts into?
Nneka:Well I feel the school government should improve security in the school.
Reporter:As a Hall Governor, what are your hobbies and dislikes?
Nneka:My hobbies include praying, going to church and playing table tennis. I dislike gossipping, intimidation and maltreatment
Reporter:Thanks a lot for the time you've spent with us.
