Hello, Welcome my name is Mikhail Dubrinsky Prince of Carpathians, as my father was before me. So I hear you are interested in our history. I sense you are a friend and for that I am grateful as we have much to protect in this age. When you first met me in Dark Prince I was at the brink of despair after a century I knew I had to go into the light I could no longer contain the beast that raged within. That is until I met Raven my lifemate. She was a human, a psychic, and a miracle. My race was on the verge of extinction. there were no Carpathian women left to give birth to lifemates. The few remaining women seemed to only be able to produce males. It was a seemingly hopeless situation. The last female child had been born 500 years ago my sister Noelle. Ah Noelle so headstrong she chose the wrong lifemate. She mated with Rand because of his good looks and ended up dead for her folly. Killed by assassins that hunted my people ruthless hunters who were wrong in assuming we were vampires. Noelle had been pregnant when she was killed and her child survived. After her death Rand was sent to the ground and their son was sent to Dierdre and Tienn. There were however two children left to come into the world one by Eleanor and Celeste both had boys. But even our children come with a high price as many do not survive there first year and with no females we were a dying race. At the end of Dark Prince the threat by assassins was still strong but my lifemate was a promise for the future. She proved that true psychic woman could be converted into Carpathians and survive.
