Every weekend you can find a fireworks display. The one in Shizuoka
is attended by about 400,000 people.

I live in Shizuoka City which is the capital city
of the prefecture.
People say it is one of the best places to live
in Japan. It never gets too hot in Summer
or too cold in Winter. It never snows however a 3 hour car journey will take you to one of the biggest ski areas in the world, see below.

Shizuoka Prefecture is located in the approximate center of Japan, facing the Pacific to the south. Within its boundaries stretching 155km (96 miles) from east to west and 118km (73 miles) from north to south, the full range of Japanese geography, ocean, mountains and lakes, are represented. Its surface area is 7,779km3 (3,003 square miles).
