Don't Stop
It’s a warm night in the middle of May
The night's about to break and turn into day
I’m woken up and to my surprise
She snuck out and wants to watch the sunrise
So I throw off the covers and throw on a shirt
Climb out the window, try not to get hurt
Rising over a hill the sun warms our cheeks
I kiss her on hers and then she speaks
“Don’t stop”
There were explosions in the sky
Leftover fireworks from the fourth of July
Lying next to her upon the grass
Eyes blue fire, skin like glass
She flashed that perfect smile, seductive and shy
My heart exploded like roman candles in the sky
I gently kissed her on the forehead
Told her “I love you” and then she said
“Don’t stop”
It’s the senior prom we dance until we drop
Then we dance some more we just can’t stop
Now it’s over but we’re not done
I don’t have to have her home until one
In the bed of my truck I gaze upon her face
I think Babe Ruth’s about to round third base
“And people think that you’re a lez”
She grins and winks and then she says
“Don’t stop”
It’s the middle of the night
We’ve been up for hours having a fight
We thought we were of like mind
But it’s been awhile since we were two of a kind
She made a gesture obscene
I told her something that I didn’t really mean
Then I turned and walked away
And I heard her sniffle and say
“Don’t stop”
