Girls Like You

My father always said there'd be girls like you
To find them and always be true
"Never do anything to make her upset
Because when she leaves you'll realize just how much you regret
You can't imagine how much she'll teach you if you're willing to learn
And sometimes to get the teacher you want, you'll have to wait your turn
There's no mountain you won't climb, no fire that can burn
When you find the right one, it's something you've got to earn"

My mother always said there'd be girls like you
A girl that would break my heart in two
"Open your eyes can't you see
That she's trying to take you away from me "
Maybe I was never yours to give
I've got my own life with her to live

My brother always said there'd be girls like you
A girl that would frustrate me so bad I wouldn't know what to do
A girl I couldn't deal with because I wouldn't know how
"But until Miss Right comes along there's always Miss Right Now"

My heart always told me there's only one girl like you
Who'd tell me "You don't know what you're getting into"
