Miss Terey

A vision in my memory will always remain
Of a wild young woman dancing in the rain
Daring men from her past to complain
That she was the cause of their pain

She never touches, she will only caress
She always looks for trouble and looks great in a dress
She refuses to let anyone see her in distress
She prefers to clean up her own mess

From saint to sinner in under six seconds, she’ll make you cower
She’s an angel until she hits ninety-five miles an hour
Then suddenly she’s naked and dancing atop a water tower
Her blue eyes containing a silent power

A woman of such impeccable style
She would never want to steal your smile
With moves like fog over a valley mile
Until she decides to move on she’ll float here for a while

Even when she travels in disguise
She’s still surrounded by butterflies
You can tell it’s her if you look into her eyes
As she jumps out of a fairy tale and runs through some lullabies

Always convinced that she’s right
She plays with cats by day and runs with the wolves at night
And she takes a great thrill from fright
Nothing escapes from her uncanny sight

Breathing in innocence and breathing out seduction
A child at play but capable of mass destruction
She’ll take your heart in an abduction
Break it in half and put it back together with her skills in construction

But her feet are on the ground, now she no longer flies
She tried to shield her soul surrounding herself with guys
But I was the only one that could sympathize
With the pain behind her eyes

When we met she told me I had to be wary
I knew there was some burden she forced herself to carry
And I never knew it’d be so very scary
To realize she was my sanctuary

I’ve never dated
Someone so infatuated
With me and I thought it would be complicated
But instead it feels like some thirst has been satiated

People said, “You should have let her run away, that one’s a wild horse
She’ll never ever find her life’s course
You remember that broken heart you had, she was the source
Because you weren’t strong enough to withstand her force”

But they don’t understand I don’t want to saddle and ride her
She can still be free I just want to walk beside her
