Overcast

The thunder rolls across a land time cannot transcend
I hear her voice in a whisper, carried by the wind
The clouds come together and block the Sun’s golden form
In a delicate balance between the calm and the storm
When she’s around I feel alive and she takes away my pain
And when she’s gone I fall back to Earth like early drops of rain
The elements give themselves away, something’s in the air
Just like when she comes around and I feel the electricity of her stare
I just want to hold her in a passionate embrace
Take my hand and brush loose strands of hair away from her face
So I can gaze longingly into the light blue gray of her shining eyes
And cast myself into a love affair with the overcast sky
