"Rain"

The neighborhood that I grew up in had a lake. It was originally a semi-natural semi-man made lake that had a dirt shore and fish in it. Some time later the subdivision comittee decided to dry it up and finish the walls and sides so it wouldn't look so 'junky'. They also wanted to keep it from eroding any more personal property than it already had. It looks nice now; little benches, a rock retaining wall, more fish. But not nearly as magical as it had been originally.

One night I snuck out of my house and went to the lake by moonlight. I took candles and incense. It started to rain. It was truly an experience like no other. I wrote this when I got back home.

Rain feelings; desolate feelings;
loneliness, sadness, heartache.

Rain feelings; hopeful feelings;
trust, acceptance, appreciation.

Rain feelings; beautiful feelings;
purity, warmth, love.

Rain feelings; these are my feelings,
when I sit and ponder you.
