"Color of Me"

I remember writing this poem after I read a poem by Schel Silverstein. I can't remember what the name of that on was but it was really cute. It inspired me to think of all the colors I am. This poem became a pretty hippie-like song by "Black Annie". We had fun with it, that's all that mattered.
November 25, 1989

My eyes are the color of stormy skies
My skin is the color of hail
My hair is the color of embers, from a fire
All together the color of me.

My walls are the color of love tears
My clothes are the color of life
My rock is the color of nature, in the Spring
All together the color of me.

My joy is the color of Winter
My fears are the color of sun
My power is the color of onyx, black as night
All together the color of me.

My people are the color of friendship
My faith is the color of truth
My name is the color of moonlight, from the moon
All together the color of me.

All together they're the color of me
All together the color of me.
