We walked a long way to where time never began.
"Time never began here," I said with childish awe.
Then the coin was exchanged for a dull silver on (that's called the moon).
I in my grey stocking, and oversized tired sweater.
Wearily we plodded along, the path of brown dust swirling at our feet.
A gold coin hung in the sky heavy like our heads.
You only nodded and blinked at the brightness,
"Never really began here, ever," you said, "It just was."
Seeming to make me a fool.
Trees bent and swayed in the arid wind.
My admiration fading from jaded blue eyes
(they looked like mine).
"I'm a fool for loving heartless things." I said to you who turned away.
And then I walked a long way,
Back to where time never began.
