So who are we exactly? We're a Chinese-American Youth Group located in Tulsa, Oklahoma. We meet twice a week. Once on Friday nights at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday mornings at 9:30 a.m.
In January we began a book called " The Mark of a World Changer" by Ron Luce. This book is crammed with information on how to build your life with character and not just hype. Hype is how you feel after you just drank 4 cans of pop and your sugar level is at its high, hype is how you feel after hanging out with your best friends for more than 3 hours, hype is just how it sounds, unreal. Hype is the fake excitement, the hyper ness you feel when you aren't REALLY on fire for God, hype is a life without love. True love. Real love.
Each week we learned something new. We learned about Stability, Strength, Integrity, Self Control, how to have a Pure Heart, Humility, Hard Work, Vision, Endurance, and how to have a passion for God. Each week was filled with insight, stories, and verses leading back to the Bible. Once we committed to this book, our lives changed. We weren't just another group of Christian teenagers. We all had a vision now. Something we knew we wanted to be, someone we knew we wanted to be like. We made a commitment, we didn't want to be caught up in the materials of this world. We wanted to be tangled up in Christ's love. So on the 12th day of January of the year 2002, we vowed to be different. We decided to change the world. We became World Changers.

During the summer we have started Relationship Night. Relationship Night is a time when girls and guys separate into two groups and their groups discuss...relationships. Topics vary from dating, school, and areas of importance in our lives.
The guys have started reading a book called "Every Young Man's Battle"  by Stephen Arterburn and Fred Stoeker. This book is based upon the Bible verse, Ephesians 5:3–“there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality." This book discusses the temptations guys face every day and the authors explain how an authentic, vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ is the key to victory over any temptation. "Every Young Man’s Battle" shows guys how to train themselves and how to develop a realistic battle plan for remaining pure in today’s sexually soaked culture. As a result, you’ll experience hope–real hope–for living a strong, pure life God’s way [Exert from book].
The girls are reading "So What's the Deal with Love?" by Joey O'Connor. In this book, the author tackles topics relating to friendships. Topics vary from being friends for life, fighting with friends, family issues, and the difference between real love and lust. The answers of each topic come straight from the Bible to show the readers the truth from God's point of view. This book is filled is based on constructing the friendship part of love, teaching teenagers the importance of having a strong relationship with God.
Both books open the groups up for discussion allowing them to feel free to share their opinions and stories. Relationship Night purposely splits up both genders so that discussion is more comfortable over these topics. Relationship Night will continue for the next few months every Friday night for Bible Study.
