"Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world" -James 1:27 (NASB) This verse sticks out in my mind as I reflect on my time in Romaina this last summer. It started with my first plane ride, departing from LAX, and it ended with me having my heart broken and my eyes opened to the real world for the first time. Working with orphans who had nothing physical but wanted to give us what they had in hopes that they might be loved was heartbreaking. Having a boy tell me that he wanted me to bring him to America and be his father was heartbreaking. There is no way to tell you what is going on in my heart, but here are a few things that I witnessed with my own eyes... |
This is the group of orphans and staff workers that
we held a camp for. This was the greatest week of my life. Never have
I felt so broken... |

people to hear the word of God. It was like something out of Bible times.
Us being the American we treated like celebrities. |

| Sandor. The boy who changed my life and asked me to bring him home to America and be his dad. Never have I felt so close to anybody. Through this boy God opened the eyes to my heart and showed me what true love is. I promised Sandor that I would return. I can't wait for that day to come... | ![]() |
