Mary Tyler Moore:Forever Minnesota...a pictorial

(This is art LuLu received. Isn't that dog exactly what LuLu would have? LuLu has taken on her own persona and now she is starting to receive presents just for her. The entity has come to life. Yikes!)

I soloed to Minne for a birthday celebration with my friend Rasher and a Memorial Day visit with my Danish friends. MTM has been installed, so I had to go. Catch my drift?

7 hrs alone, cruising with Bob Dylan and Prince in an alternate universe. I stopped in Black River Falls (I missed the big truck stop.) at the Arrowhead to buy cheese curds. They were FRESH that day. YUM! I bought regular, garlic, and a rope of string cheese. OH! and they had chocolate cheese fudge. No joke. It tastes very very good. Chocolate & Cheese...Ween! It is REAL. And I couldn't pass up the cashew brittle. Okay, I bought everything I sampled.

They have a gigantic bright orange moose there. When you stand underneath him, there is still a foot or so more of headspace. He is HUGE! I asked a truck driver if he could take a pic of me there, but it isn't in the digital so I guess he didn't understand how to do the camera. The week before I left I had my hair done in I-Love-Lucy orange for an opening, and I was matching the moose, so it would have been cool, and probably won't happen again...the hair, not the moose.

Anyway Rasher had a whole plan for my birthday. He wanted to take me for Polynesian, but I begged for pancakes. It stumped him. Then he being of brilliant mind told me that pancakes are a sacred food and that could work...something about alien abductions in the Carolinas in the late 30s. The aliens gave the abductees piles of pancakes to take home. And of course the biblical reference...manna from heaven.

Later we went to the 400 Bar. I could not believe it...guess who was playing? Mark Eitzel and Tim Easton. It was incredible!!!!!!!! Another man introduced me to both of these music-makers, so that part was a little weird because then I was thinking of him. The music was great though, just to hear it live and raw....oh yes!(Tim Easton is a heartbreaker!)and I adore the 400 Bar. It's a tiny venue down on the West Bank. Worth a stop if you go to Minne.

That's Minneapolis in the background. Yes, it was cold and I had to wear my black leather parka.

The next day Rasher gave me the idea of doing paintings using my body as the brush. He went out and bought giant canvasses and lots of paint. He likes to watch. I like to do. We had to go back for unstretched canvas...forms better to the body. These are huge paintings. Rash is putting two of them up in his downtown loft. He is such a good guy. He came to my rescue once when I needed him most...to take me to the hospital.

I think maybe I will make a site to support the new technique. He doesn't want me to show myself all over the Internet. He says I am too good for that. I say I am just a regular all-around girl.
