Of course the reason people can be fooled is because of the lies told taught as being “historical truth.” For instance, take this statement cut from no other than Canada’s Geological Survey official page, “The History of Expeditions to the North Magnetic Pole.”
“… Almost half a century would elapse before another North Magnetic Pole survey took place. Observations made by Canadian government scientists at more southerly locations indicated that the Pole had moved a considerable distance in that time. This was
confirmed by observations made in 1945 by the Aries, a Royal Air Force Lancaster fitted with seven compasses of various types and sophisticated (for the era) navigational equipment. Although the Aries observations confirmed that the Pole had moved north, they were not accurate enough to pinpoint its exact location. In 1947, Paul Serson and Jack Clark, of the Dominion Observatory, made a series of magnetic observations in the Arctic islands which established the position of the North Magnetic Pole as 73.9° N, 100.9 °W, 400 km northwest of Amundsen's position. However, the expedition was significant for two other reasons. First, transportation was by air. This reduced the time required to find the Pole from years to days. Sec!

Humm … strange. A teacher once told me that in order for us to fully understand something we had to repeat, repeat, repeat. Let’s take another look at my research about this subject, using information provided to the New York Times by both the Canadian and US governments during the time of the 1947 Canadian military study. Keep in mind the words of the official Canadian Geographical Society report, I repeat.
Quote. In 1947, Paul Serson and Jack Clark, of the Dominion Observatory, made a series of magnetic observations in the Arctic islands which established the position of the North
Magnetic Pole as 73.9° N, 100.9 °W, 400 km northwest of Amundsen's position. End quote.
If I’m reading this correctly the report says the two scientists found the very spot that was the North Magnetic pole and established it‘s location exactly on the globe. Now lets compare that with one of many reports from the New York Times during the 1947 expedition.

“ … This military study of the Polar Regions has unexpectedly supplied us with new information on terrestrial magnetism. Observers of the Royal Air Force found that the North Magnetic Pole lies 300 miles north-northwest of its charted position in the Bothia Peninsula. These findings have not only been confirmed by American Army pilots but have been supplemented with the information that there are three magnetic poles in the area 450 miles long by nearly 200 miles wide … it took the fear of war to make the startling discovery that there are three
magnetic poles. Will this hold good for the South Magnetic Pole? There is reason to think so.
“We begin to understand why explorers have reported that the Magnetic Pole is elusive and that it shifts its position. But is it shifting? If the three magnetic poles remain fixed, if other poles are found, which is not improbable, we shall have to think of an ellipse-shaped magnetic region. …”

Three magnetic poles? An ellipse shaped magnetic region?” Isn’t an ellipse somewhat like a circle? This is starting to sound like what Gardner and Reed wrote in their books regarding a magnetic circle at the poles or to be more precise …“a magnetic area half-way around the lip of the hole-at-the-pole” rather than a single spot situated at some exact point on the globe …be it moving or otherwise.
Re-read the “history” of the magnetic pole as posted on the official Canadian Geographic Society page and quoted above. Where in that “history” are the three
different poles documented by establishment reports found at the same time in 1947 even mentioned, let alone explained. Why are these findings conveniently omitted?
Of course skeptics will claim as an excuse “they have better instruments today.” Fine. The only problem is the “better instruments excuse” wouldn’t hold true in this instance. The 1947 expedition found three separate magnetic areas around the pole. The instruments of the time were able to do that. If modern instruments can now find one magnetic area … well, you catch my drift I‘m sure.
In order for me to find the articles concerning the “3 magnetic poles” I had to sit in front of a microfiche machine in the Jacksonville Public Library basement for hours. I read through fading back issues of The New York Times until the letters blurred in front of me before I found the information. And now, years later I read this “history” which is accessible to millions at the click of a button. Which “history”
is destined to become common knowledge? That that I read hunched over 1947 Issues of the New York Times, or that revised for general release on the Canadian Geological Society official web page?
Is it any wonder that we, the public, are easily fooled? Some, including your ever-learning editor, believes there is a cover-up regarding our polar regions.
Others disagree.

THE MYSTERY DEEPENS
Meanwhile at the other end of the earth. Even stranger events are staring to unfold …First lets take a hindsight look at an excellent report filed by
“Malklaka.” and published in the Insider’s Report 2004 - #11.
“Milklaka” reported the happenings concerning a research project at the mysterious Lake Vostok, located 300 miles from the South Pole. The project which was staffed and financed by countries worldwide was making very exciting new findings as they started investigating this older than ancient, pristine body of water.
Then, all of-a-sudden …
It was reported that a “ huge magnetic anomaly” was found to be located in or near Lake Vostok. Immediately according to press releases and “due to unspecified National Security Issues” … “NSA [is] to assume full control.” The reason for the shut-down was later changed to a statement that the “project has been halted due to environmental issues.” Then the clamp was put on and no more information has been released.
Combine that with the report of the two women “rescued” while trying to ski across Antarctica. The truth be know, They never requested
assistance. Not only that, but “according to the dispatch the women were insistent on reporting something unusual they had seen. The latest news reports have the pair resting in "seclusion".

Next clue … satellite photos of the lake and surrounding areas, which had been posted on the NASA web page in Jan. 2001, are “no longer available from the official website.”

Combine the above information with this interesting report from “Innovative Reports.” A report in which the writer of the report states that the chances of two “finds” like this being found almost simultaneously in different locations is “against incredible odds“:

Now, just for fun let’s stop and speculate a bit. Here’s one scenario.
If it is true and there is an entrance to the Inner Lands from holes at the north and south poles and that entrance, or proof of such a thing, was found while exploring Lake Vostok couldn’t you see an immediate shutdown of whatever those who were there were doing … takeover by a government agency … and different, confusing press releases to confuse and cover the real reason?
Also, of course they would want to get anyone in the area out of that area … and then detain and debrief them … all under the blanket cover name “For
National Security.”

In the mean time as soon as the first permitted people moved into the entrance exciting animal life and/or their fossils should be found in abundance. But what the controllers would really be after is the natural wealth … the oil, gold and precious stones. As has been proven through out recorded history … he who gets there first gets the spoils.
On top of a list the controllers would need to get a jump on removing that wealth would be a way to quickly deliver supplies to the region and haul the riches out. Something like … a highway?

I have not found much of Shaver’s writings on the internet, however, my very good and long time friend, Jerry, locates and sells original copies of all of the old pulp magazines including many with Shaver articles in them. (The key word here is “hope”).
Actually Richard Shaver's articles, letters etc. were spread out in Amazing Stories over a couple of years, so buying one issue will not give you the full story.
What you want is the "Hidden World" series, which was published by Ray Palmer between 1961-1963. This series contain all of the Shaver information.
In
talking to Margarie Palmer, widow of Ray, a few years ago I found out that the originals of this series plus many more magazines and books published by Palmer Press were destroyed by the new owners when she sold the publishing company. The reason given her was that "The cover pictures were too ugly" so the wife of the new owner had them thrown out in the trash.
I have a full set of “Hidden Worlds” that I photocopied many years ago and a few original issues. However, I've never seen a full set for sale. I'd just keep my eye on ebay and amazon.com if I were you. And don’t forget to try Jerry’s Book Store.
I do have plans on putting much of the Shaver stuff on the site after I retire. But that's 6 years away.

All over the world people are reporting strange sounds coming from
under their feet! There are reports of humming sounds, buzzings, clicks,
whistles, and even human groans issuing from this so-called `solid '
earth. But perhaps most fascinating of all are the sounds of machinery
where there shouldn't be! In B.A. Slate and A. Berry's book, ` Bigfoot '
there is an interesting account by two hunters who, in 1972, were flown
by small plane into an area of the Canadian wilderness:
"...Our base camp is 354 air miles
north of Montreal and we were
another 80 air miles further north...there are no towns, no sounds of cars
or trains, and there are no commercial airlines that fly over this part
of Quebec, so at night it is so quiet and peaceful that you can hear
the crackling sound of the pine trees in the cold of the northern nights.
At 5 pm night was upon us...René is a heavy sleeper, and as soon as he
was in his bag, he was asleep. I always have trouble falling asleep and
this is when I first heard the noise. The sound I heard seemed to come
from the bowels of the earth. It sounded like machinery, the same sound
you would hear if you were in an engineering plant. I listened to this
sound for 5 minutes before waking up my partner. He too heard it and we
stayed up for two hours listening to it and talking about it. There are
no waterfalls in this area and the nearest town is La Tuque, which is
234 miles away..."
A similar incident
happened to a Mr. D. Millett at Cedar city Utah in
March of 1975:
"My wife and I moved into a mountain cabin 70 miles from Cedar
high up in the mountains. Every night at around 11 o'clock, we hear a
motor running, but it sounds far away and runs throughout the night.
There is also a mine tunnel close by...the owner has not dug there for
some time. He refuses to stay there alone anymore because of strange
happenings. Before, he had stayed there for years. One morning I heard
heavy footsteps coming towards our cabin, then saw a huge dark shape (move)
across the window. I grabbed my gun and threw a cartridge into the
chamber as our doorknob turned. Whatever was out there did not enter. I
slowly opened the door. There was nothing there, and I heard no footsteps
leaving. Our two dogs were just outside the door but never barked! What
puzzles me is there were no footprints of any
kind and yet we have lots
of snow here! My Indian friends tell me it is `Newputz', meaning ghost
in their language, and few will stay in the area overnight. The!
sound of the motor we hear runs on the weekends. If the sound were
coming from a mining company, it would be shut down on weekends. "
In 1975, reports of strange events and sounds in the Big Rock area in
the vicinity of the
San Andreas fault line prompted ASA (Angeles Sasquatch Association)
researchers to plant a tape recorder with a built-in mike at the site.
They placed the recorder on solid ground at around midnight, that time
being necessary so as not to pick up sounds from a nearby probation
installation that usually closed around 11 pm. The experimenters, careful not
to make any sound themselves, switched on the device and waited. They
could hear only the chirping sound of crickets, yet, when the tape was
played back the unmistakable sound of
machinery could be heard,
resembling, according to the experimenters:
"...a generator or hydroelectric plant in operation which seemed to be
coming from beneath our feet! The sounds do not remain consistent but
subtly change as if gears are set in motion. Suddenly the sounds stop
and from the tape comes a harsh, almost computer-like voice that whispers
... "Keep out! We don't want..." and with that the voice fades."
The unusual thing about some of these, `machinery sounds' is that the
researchers themselves often hear nothing, and it is only later during
playback of sound recording equipment that the machinery is heard. Is
there some type of mental control being used on the researchers by beings
unknown, to prevent them becoming aware of underground activity, or are
the sounds of a psychic nature, similar to EVP (Electronic Voice
Phenomena) where they can only be heard via a tape recorder?
According to
the ancient Greeks there was once a race of giant beings
called Cyclopes, the name originally meaning, "circular or round eyes",
(what other connotation could this term have, other than that used by
Asians to distinguish caucasoids from Asians? Unless it is a reference
to a machine of some sort?) This 'round eyed' term later, probably
through misuse, became changed to "one-eye" ¾ which organ was then placed
conveniently in the centre of the forehead. This eye, which was probably
not an eye at all, was also said to be as bright and, "...as large as
the full moon..." One 19th century writer of Greek myths has suggested
that because these beings worked underground, the single eye was a lamp
of sorts that was affixed to the head to allow freedom of the hands to
dig, similar to the lamps joined to the helmets of 19th and 20th
century miners. According to legend these Cyclopes were of huge size and they
grew
powerful by industry underground. They labored under the e!
arth making metallic devices, notably, arms and Armour, and devices
that emitted lighting and thunder.
...these underground noises of machinery, whether caused by
world governments engaged in some clandestine activity, or by creatures not
officially known to humanity, if meant to be a total secret, has
obviously not been very successful. In fact it would be interesting to know
where H.G. Wells get his idea of 'Morloks' and underground industry!
And from whence did Shaver come by the notion of those underground
inhabitants, the 'deros and teros', published in Ray Palmer's Amazing
Stories?
....the report of a strange event that occurred in 1770 in
Staffordshire, England was found by Fortean researcher Ronald Calais. It tells of
the experience of a laborer who while engaged
in digging a tunnel, thought he
heard the faint sound of machinery
coming from behind a large, flat stone. Prying the rock aside with his
pick, the man was amazed to discover a stone
stairway that led deep into the ground. Thinking that he had come upon
an ancient tomb or burial chamber, the man started down the steps with
visions of buried treasure filling his mind, instead, the man found
himself in a large stone chamber. The machinery sounds were
becoming louder and suddenly he saw a hooded figure fast approaching
him with a baton-like object in an upraised hand. Whereupon the terrified
laborer fled back up the stone staircase to the safety of the surface
world.
Calais couples this account with the comments of David Fellin and Henry
Throne, who survived a 1963 Pennsylvania mine cave-in. The two miners
claimed that during their ordeal they saw a huge door open to reveal
beautiful marble steps with men clothed in "weird outfits" staring at
them. The men were certain they had experienced reality, rather than
hallucinations.
H.T.Wilkins in his book Mysteries Of Ancient South America quotes from
Ossendowski's
book, Beasts Men and Gods where he refers to a Brahman of Nepal, and a
fisherman from Siam
or Thailand who traveled by boat to an unknown island thought to be
located somewhere in the South China Sea. They were told by the
inhabitants of this island that: "We come out of a subterranean kingdom, where,
in cars of type unknown to western races, men rush through this
subterranean world through cleavages in the earth." The islanders also showed
them a strange animal with one eye (my italics)!

Further into the report Mr. Swann writes:

RESEARCH TOOL OF THE WEEK (Hell … maybe it's even the tool of the
year!)
A research tool everyone will like and actually use! Michael B. Haupt
found this one and included it in the current issue (Number 6) of his
very good “Three World Wars Newsletter.”
Of the search tool Michael wrote:
“Here's a very cool tool that visually illustrates the websites
related to or linking to any URL, according to Goggle’s database. Why would
this be useful? Well, ever get bored visiting the same sites over and
over again? Ever wondered what sites might be related to your favorite?
Using this nifty tool, enter the URL you want to research and watch the
link neighborhood map appear! It shows the sites that are related, with
color indicating the strength of the relationships and info flags
detailing the sources. Double click on any other site and watch more related
links being fetched from Google. There are lots of advanced commands to
play with should you have the time and the
inclination. It's like "six
degrees of separation," Web-style, and I promise you it's addictive.

The LAPD, The FBI, and the CIA are all trying to prove that they are
the best at apprehending criminals. The President decides to give them
a test. He releases a rabbit into a forest and has each of them try to
catch it.
The FBI goes in. They place animal informants throughout the forest.
They question all plant and mineral witnesses. After three months of
extensive investigations they conclude that rabbits do not exist.
Then the CIA goes in. After two weeks with no leads they burn the
forest, filling everything in it, including the rabbit, and they make no
apologies. The rabbit had it coming.
Then the LAPD goes in. They come out two hours later with a badly
beaten raccoon. The raccoon is yelling: "Okay! Okay! I'm a rabbit! I'm a
rabbit!"
