Greeting! It's Hard to believe that it's … Year 3!

First I want to thank all of those who sent me e-mail when they
didn't receive their "Unraveling…" during the past several months.

No I wasn't sick or anything. To be honest I had an "information
overload." Too much input ... nothing going out. I was becoming a
robot to the newsletter.   So I decided to stop and take a
breather. There were several important projects I'd been putting
off and decided to devote my time to some of these.

For one thing I needed to work out a lay-out of a new web page
dedicated to the 1800's Airship Mystery & the artist C.A.A
Dellschau. I'd like to be able to have it up and running around the
same time that our book on the same subject comes out. (For those
who have asked, the hold up on that has been solved. It had to do
with the 250 illustrations included in the book. Getting them all
to print out sharply was presenting a problem.   Now that our able
Editor Bob Gunner has solved that problem the project is inching
ever so slowly … but steadily … forward).

I am also an avid American Roots music collector, in particular
Blues Music. I have started to convert my favorite music off of my
2500+ LP collection into mp3 files. This has to be done in "real
time".

I also hope to write another book in the next four years and I've
started to research that.   So I'm just as busy as ever, only in
different areas of interest

However, I couldn't let the New Year begin without putting together
an issue of "Unraveling…" And to let you know that I will be
publishing this Research Report again this year … so look for it …
but on an unregulated basis.

Yes Virginia there will be a Year 3.

U.N. General Assembly Now Has Resolution To Establish United Nations
Decade Of Contact & Diplomatic Relations With E.T.s

For the first time in 27 years, the United Nations General Assembly
will be debating the issue of establishing diplomatic relations with
advanced Extraterrestrial Civilizations that may now be visiting
Earth. On December 16, 2005, a Resolution to establish a United
Nations Decade of Contact was formally transmitted to the incoming
President of the General Assembly, H.E. Jan Eliasson of Sweden by
the Institute for Cooperation in Space (ICIS), a Non-Governmental
Organization. Almost to the day twenty-seven years ago, on December
18, 1978, the United Nations General Assembly voted to approve
decision 33/426, inviting U.N. Member States "to take appropriate
steps to coordinate on a national level scientific research and
investigation into extraterrestrial life, including unidentified
flying objects, and to inform the Secretary-General of the
observations, research and evaluation of such activities."

"Bigfoot" fever grips rainforest

KUALA LUMPUR (Reuters) - Bigfoot fever is gripping Malaysia, with
local newspapers and the official news agency reporting sightings of
a huge ape in southern rainforests.
In one reported sighting, an indigenous man claimed he saw a 10-feet-
tall (300-cm-tall) ape standing on two legs beside a river in heavy
rainforest in Johor state, the director of the state's national-
parks service told Reuters on Sunday.
"He said it was hairy all over, like a gorilla," said Hashim Yusoff,
director of Johor National Parks Corp.

Hashim took and a group of park rangers and journalists into the
Sungai Madek forest reserve last week in four-wheel-drive vehicles
to ask indigenous people in the area about the reported sightings….

Labour's much-trumpeted freedom of information laws have failed to
open up Whitehall to public scrutiny, judging by the evidence of the
first 12 months of the new order.
A year after we were first granted the "right to know", new figures
show nine out of 17 government departments have failed to provide
adequate answers to half of the requests they received.
Gordon Brown's Treasury was the worst offender by refusing to
release information in three-quarters of all "resolvable" requests.
Further findings reveal that all but one government department has
breached the FOI legislation by failing to answer requests within
the 20-day time limit…

KGB's secret UFO files finally made public

Files comprising the famous Blue Folder have been declassified a
while ago. The prominent Soviet cosmonaut Pavel Popovich got the
folder from the KGB in 1991. These days Mr. Popovich holds the
position of honorary president of the Academy of Informational and
Applied Ufology. The folder contains numerous descriptions of UFO
flights and reports on some (mostly failed) attempts taken by the
military in order to catch the aliens.

In 1968, 13 leading aircraft designers and engineers of a brand-new
aircraft section of the Soviet Committee on Space Technology and

the woods of western Pennsylvania 40 years ago are marking another
anniversary today: two years since a lawsuit was filed to get NASA
to release records of what happened.

A National Aeronautics and Space Administration spokesman says
there's no cover-up: The "UFO" was a Russian satellite but
government records documenting it have been lost.

Leslie Kean, an investigative reporter backed by the Sci Fi Channel,
and a group connected to the cable TV channel sued NASA two years

LAS VEGAS - For someone brought up on a steady diet of the "X-Files"
and the occasional "government using UFO technology" conspiracy
theory, the chance to drive a highway famous for spotting the
strange and often unexplainable was a chance too good to pass up.

Dedicated as the Extraterrestrial Highway on April 18, 1996,
Nevada's State Route 375 is a 100-mile stretch of two-lane asphalt
that runs through Lincoln and Nye counties. Marked at either end
with signage that uses images of F-117 stealth fighters as well as
flying saucers, the road is actually one of the least traveled roads
in America.

In the 1980s, alleged Area 51 engineer Bob Lazar shocked Las Vegas-
area TV viewers with statements that he not only had seen a captured
UFO at Area 51, but that he and others were reverse-engineering the
craft's propulsion system for military use. There were subsequent
questions of whether he was who he said he was - he remains a poster
child for what others claim was governmental character
assassination. In any event, Lazar's allegations whipped up both UFO
and conspiracy buffs, bringing many to spend a night in the Nevada
desert looking for that encounter with alien visitors.

major North Pacific air corridor, covering air routes R-222, R-580
and A-590. The restriction covers the dates September 10-15. The
cloture of these major routes is highly unusual, is said to be due
to a Department of Defense Strategic Defense Initiative, but the

Roswell 'Saucer' Man Dies

Army Lt. Walter Haut, who issued a news release in 1947 that said a
flying saucer landed in Roswell, N.M., died there on Dec. 15, his
daughter, Julie Shuster, told the Associated Press. He was 83.

Haut's release and the news coverage it generated were the beginning
of the mythology surrounding the tiny New Mexico town and its
supposed link to the UFO phenomenon, which persists to this day.

Haut, a former spokesman for the Roswell Army Air Field, took
dictation on July 8, 1947, as base commander Col. William Blanchard
dictated a news release about a recovered flying saucer and ordered
Haut to issue it.

The Roswell Daily Record newspaper ran a bold headline on July 9,
1947: "RAAF Captures Flying Saucer on Ranch in Roswell Region." …

DR. Lytle S. Adams, a dental surgeon from Irwin, Pa., was
vacationing in the southwestern US on December 7, 1941. Like
millions of Americans, he was shocked at the news from Pearl Harbor
and couldn't believe Japan had been able to mount such an attack. In
those days, "Made in Japan" meant cheap, shabby, and inferior.
Americans' image of Japan was of crowded cities filled with paper-
and-wood houses and factories.

Dr. Adams pondered how the US could fight back. In a 1948 interview
with the Bulletin of the National Speleological Society, Dr. Adams
recalled: "I had just been to Carlsbad Caverns, N. M., and had been
tremendously impressed by the bat flight. . . . Couldn't those
millions of bats be fitted with incendiary bombs and dropped from
planes? What could be more devastating than such a firebomb attack?"
Dr. Adams went back to Carlsbad and captured some bats. At home, he
read everything he could find about the tiny flyers. He learned that
there are nearly 1,000 species around the world and that each bat
lives up to thirty years. The most common bat in North America is
the free-tailed, or guano, bat, a small brown mammal that may catch
more than 1,000 mosquitoes or gnat-sized insects--a load twelve
times its own size--in a single night. Weighing about nine grams, it
can carry an external load nearly three times its own weight.
On January 12, 1942, Dr. Adams sent to the White House a proposal to
investigate the possible use of bats as bombers. …

8,000-year-old campsites unearthed in Texas

A Texas Department of Transportation worker found multiple ancient
campsites while working on a construction project in Williamson
County (USA). The campsites date back some 8,000 years.
Jonathan Budd, an archeologist who works for TxDOT, says sites
like these are sometimes found during work on their projects, but
this one is unique. "This in itself is extraordinary. This is found
to be eligible for the National Register for Historic Places," said
Budd. "We have significant archeological deposits here. For the last
7,000- 8,000 years you have multiple occupations like a birthday
cake." Even though archeologists are focusing on an area that's 70
by
30 meters, they believe the campsite is much larger. And for the
most
part, the artifacts they're finding have been remarkably preserved.

The shifting sands of time have revealed Australia's earliest human
footprints, giving a glimpse of life at the height of the last ice
age.

At tens of thousands of years old the find is the largest group of
human footprints from the Pleistocene era ever found.

Archaeologist Dr Matthew Cupper of the University of Melbourne and
colleagues report their findings from the New South Wales Willandra
Lakes World Heritage Area online ahead of print publication in the
Journal of Human Evolution.

The strange deaths of deer in a hunting preserve in the department
of Uruguay has become a source of concern to local residents. These
are female specimens that turned up mutilated and whose gentalia and
reproductive organs were removed.
During recent days at the La Medalla Milagrosa ranch, located some
50 km from Concepción del Uruguay, near the banks of the Uruguay

Mammoth DNA could spark resurrection

Scientists have mapped part of the genome of the woolly mammoth, a
huge mammal that's been extinct for about 10,000 years.
The breakthrough could lead to re-creating the creatures.
A team led by Hendrik Poinar at McMaster University unlocked secrets
of the creature's nuclear DNA by working with a well-preserved
27,000-year-old specimen from Siberia. Colleagues at Penn State
sequenced 1 percent of the genome in a few hours and say they expect
to finish the whole genome in about a year if funding is provided. …

Phoenix Lights Update

I have finally been able to revise my web page showing the
video of the Phoenix Lights from 1997 and the video from
Rainbow Valley in 2002. By converting the video format
I found I could capture a frame of the Rainbow Valley video
and put it in my image analyzer.
These orbs show they actually have a round solid structure
that is surrounded by a plasma that appears contained by
a field so that the light does not illuminate the air around it.

Bermuda Triangle mystery still haunts

The last words were innocuous: "Roger. Miami overseas, 6567."

It was probably Louie Giuntoli's voice. The 41-year-old pilot of the
C-119 Flying Boxcar sounded calm on the radio as he acknowledged
switching to a clearer frequency of 6567 kilocycles.

He didn't sound like a man in distress.

He didn't sound like a man about to disappear.
The crew from Milwaukee's 440th Airlift Wing was flying over the
Atlantic Ocean south of Florida on the heavily traveled Yankee
Route. Though maps don't identify the area as such, it's known as
the Bermuda Triangle. Another half-hour and the 10 men on board
should have arrived at their destination, Grand Turk Island in the
Bahamas.

It was a clear night with good flying weather. When they didn't
land, radio traffic controllers started calling Plane No. 680. The
crew didn't answer.

Nothing more was heard from Plane No. 680. Nothing was found. Not
the men. Not their aircraft. Only a few scraps of debris that could
have been tossed out of the cargo plane.
It's as if they were just swallowed up by the turquoise waters.
That was 40 years ago. …

Well, perhaps. Some theorists continue to posit that many odd events
were strange - indeed, stranger than truth.

knoll. And thanks to a little book by Dan Brown, we know Leonardo Da
Vinci may or may not have slipped Mary Magdalene into The Last
Supper.
But did the Titanic sink because of a secret fraud conspiracy? Are
Nazis hanging out in Antarctica? Was a CIA experiment in mind-
control behind the Jonestown massacre?
James McConnachie and Robin Tudge lay out these theories and many,
many more in The Rough Guide to Conspiracy Theories (Rough Guides,
$14.99), which bills itself as "the definitive guide to the world's
most controversial conspiracies."
It's full of the usual suspects. The largest index entry is for the
CIA, followed closely by the Nazis, Bushes (Georges H.W. and W.) and
Clintons (Bill and Hillary). McConnachie and Tudge - a TV presenter
and journalist, respectively - lay out the claims dispassionately,
though they acknowledge some are "outright insane."
"Once you've left behind the reassuringly two-dimensional dry land
of believing what the government or the media or indeed anyone else
tells you, you're in a new and infinitely more complex world," they
write. "Everybody seems to have an agenda, no one can be trusted -
your field of vision is constricted by the mask of ideology and, and
looking down into the murkier depths, it's easy to give way to panic

A joint Japanese-Bolivian research team has completed the first
stage of a three-year investigation that aims to shed light on a
little-known high culture that existed in the present-day Bolivian
Amazon.
The investigation, named "Project Mojos," is headed by Katsuyoshi
Sanematsu, a professor of anthropology at Rikkyo University in
Tokyo.
In an interview Wednesday, Sanematsu, 56, told Kyodo News that the
team, composed of four Japanese researchers and four Bolivian
researchers, succeeded in finding hundreds of archaeological
artifacts during a monthlong excavation that ended earlier this
month.
"It is very unusual for such a large number of artifacts to be found
at a single site in the region, especially in an excavation of such
a short time," he said.
The so-called ancient Mojos culture is presumed to have existed in
the Bolivian Amazon for thousands of years before the arrival of the
Spanish conquistadores.

In the Llanos de Mojos, a large, seasonally flooded plain in the
northeastern part of Bolivia, there remains abundant evidence of
this ancient culture. Most prominent are 20,000 man-made hills or
mounds, 5,000 kilometers of straight roads, a large network of
canals, and 2,000 artificial lakes. …

is known from ancient scientific texts, and from a traditional
historic point of view, such a mechanism should not have existed for
at least another thousand years. The discovery of the Antikythera
Device is equivalent to finding a supercomputer on a farm in the
18th century.
