It sounds like a big tumble dryer, but it seems airborne rather than underground. That is the desperate question from New Waltham pensioner Margaret Belton (67), who claims the humming noises which have plagued her for three years are getting worse. In May 2004, the Telegraph reported how unidentified humming and whizzing sounds were keeping Mrs Belton awake at her Pretymen Crescent home. Since then a team of experts from the University of Salford have visited the location as part of a national research project into the "hum". A fascinating report has proved the noises Mrs Belton hears are not just sounds in her head. In a report by academics, an intermittent sound of between 40 and 60 decibels was recorded at the pensioner's home. The findings were mirrored in other parts of the country where low frequency sounds were also registered in areas where residents complained of "humming" noises. Publisher: Tim Beckley & Global/Inner Light Publications www.conspiracyjournal.com It's been many years since I'd read anything NEW by Richard Shaver and I want to thank my old friend Tim Beckley for digging through his extensive files to finally bring these "lost writings" into print. We can only hope he has more "lost writings" in his hoard. At any rate, it was sure fun to read this NEW book! (Let me say up-front that the editor's inclusion of a section of my writings on Shaver & Palmer as Chapter 9 has no bearing on my recommendation of this book. … I liked it DESPITE that!) LOL. But never mind what I could say about this book other than it should be an important addition to your library… instead lets hear from the man himself, Richard Shaver: Excerpt from Chapter One: "My name is Richard Sharpe Shaver, and because of my good friend Ray Palmer and myself, the world now knows about the mysteries and horrors that dwell in the squalid caverns deep beneath our feet. This has become known as the "Shaver Mystery," but to me, there is no mystery, only facts …." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ For those of us who have followed the Shaver Mystery these many years it is nice to once again visit Shaver's subterranean world populated with the evil Deros and mysterious Teros with Richard Shaver himself as our guide in this new book. Unfortunately most people alive today hardly remember Shaver and his underworld teachings and warnings. But that hasn`t always been true. At one time Shaver and his mystery was well know by most Americans. I am now looking through the May 21, 1951 issue of Life Magazine (20 cents a copy with a circulation of over 5,200,000). It's fun to look at ads for such "modern products" as the 1951 De Soto automobile, "De Soto lets you drive without shifting," the Westinghouse "frost-free" Refrigerator and the G.E. Black-Daylite Television with the "new life-size 17 inch screen". And then there are the photo-journal news stories of the day including a couple with headlines that are very surprising to read knowing the news of today, "Wetbacks Swarm In: Mexicans Disrupt Border Economy by Sneaking Over for Low Wages" (page 33) and "Our Government's Deplorable Performance in Iran Has Contributed to a Great Disaster" (page 36). But the report that I pulled this old magazine out to review is titled "Through the Interstellar Looking Glass." by Winthrop Sargeant. An article covering the "the fastest-growing folklore of the machine age" … science fiction. A large portion of the article was dedicated to the Shaver Mystery, which America's most popular magazine of it's day called "the Shaver hoax." Excerpts from "Through the Interstellar Looking Glass" (Page 127): "The Shaver business mainly concerned a race of malformed, subhuman creatures called "deros" (from "detrimental robots") who inhabit a vast system of underground cities all over the World. The original name of their habitat was Lemuria, and they had once been slaves of a Lemurian master race. But this master race had long since disappeared from the earth, leaving the ignorant and malicious deros in control of the great cities and wonderful machines it had built. Since then the deros had occupied themselves mainly in persecuting the human race who lived on the crust above them." (page 136). The article then goes on to explain that: "The deros were responsible for all the evil in the world. All catastrophes, from shipwrecks to sprained ankles were directly attributable to their influence. They often appeared on the surface of the earth and were sufficiently human in appearance to pass unnoticed in a crowd. But they performed most of their harassments by telepathy, rays and other remote-control devices from their subterranean homes. Their underground cities communicated with the surface through various caves which were extremely dangerous for humans to enter…." (Page 136) When the Shaver Mystery was introduced by Ray Palmer & Richard Shaver in the pulp magazine "Amazing Stories" in 1945 the response from readers was "amazing" also… … "Letters to the Editor poured in at 10 times their usual volume. The letters stated that Lemuria still existed, that the ground beneath dozens of American cities was honeycombed with dero communities. Some identified their neighbors as deros; others reported or hinted at personal encounters with deros carried out under conditions of incredible danger. The deros were referred to as "the fifth column from Hell."" (Pages 136-137) ""For heaven's sake drop the whole thing!!" Wrote an ex-Air Force captain. "You are playing with dynamite. My companion and I fought our way out of a cave with submachine guns. I have two 9-inch scars on my left arm … My friend has a hole the size of a dime in his right bicep. It was seared inside. How we don't know. But we both believe we know more about the Shaver mystery than any other pair … don't print our names. We are not cowards, but we are not crazy." (Page 137). "Expeditions were planned by readers to certain caves that were thought to be entrances into Lemuria, but anonymous telephone calls warned the participants of the danger of death. Editor Palmer reported that the keys of his typewriter had been mysteriously mutilated and later revealed that his life had been threatened. By this time deros had been hooked up with virtually every mysterious or unexplained occurrence reported in the news. They were held responsible for the disappearance of Justice Crater, for the mysterious "air raid" over California just before Pearl Harbor, for the reports of flying saucers. They were reported as far north as the Aleutians, where they were said to be using cigar-shaped space ships. A colony of then was detected in caves on Mount Shasta in northern California …." Cluff, author and co-organizer of Voyage to Our Hollow Earth Expedition Cruise By Special Invitation: A substantial amount of unusual evidence indicates that our earth is hollow and has polar openings that lead into the interior. There are presently hundreds of hollow earth theory fans worldwide who subscribe to this theory. A proposed expedition would like to conduct some scientific observations in the Arctic that we hope will resolve once and for all whether the hollow earth theory has any validity. The indigenous Eskimos believe there is a hole in the arctic ocean. Observations of several Arctic explorers of mirages of land in the Arctic indicate that the most plausible location for a north polar opening that leads into the interior of the earth is located at 84.4 N latitude, 141 E Longitude. To check out this theory, a group of hollow earth believers and scientists would like to charter a Russian Nuclear Icebreaker into the Arctic sea. From the northern shores of Franz Josef Land, the expedition would like to first go to the North Geographic Pole and from there south on the 141st east longitude meridian. The discovery of a verdant, green land in the arctic by arctic explorer Richard Evelyn Byrd was reportedly reached at a distance of about 1,700 statute miles. It is uncertain from what point in the arctic he took his flight beyond the pole to reach that undiscovered land, but from any point in the arctic, 1,700 miles brings one only over land covered by ice and snow. For example, from the New Siberian Islands to Greenland over the geographic north pole on Meridian 141 E. Longitude brings one to Greenland in only 1,450 miles. Therefore, the land Admiral Byrd discovered beyond the pole covered with lush green vegetation must be located within the North Polar Opening. That land has been sighted out over the Arctic wastes by several different explorers from different directions at different times. It is a land that has been sighted always in the same direction, whether seen from Greenland, Alaska or northern Russia. The Russians called it Sannikov land, and have seen it north of the New Siberian Islands. Admiral Peary on his way to the pole in 1909 sighted land northwest of Cape Thomas Hubbard on the northwest coast of Ellesmere Island in Northern Canada. With him, Lt. Green, MacMillan and their Eskimos also saw it and even later went on an expedition out on the ice to find it and only turned back when their Eskimos claimed it only to be a mist. MacMillan swore it looked every bit like real land. Admiral Peary did also, and so he named it Crocker land. Dr. Cook on his way to the pole in 1906 saw it also towards the northwest of his trek to the pole from Ellesmere Island, and even took a picture of it. Then from Harrison Bay on the north coast of Alaska, Captain Keenan sighted land also towards the northwest. Jan Lamprecht in his book, Hollow Planets, makes an excellent case that these sightings of mirages of land in the arctic, could easily actually be land within a Polar Opening, seen as a doubly inverted mirage caused by the warm air that comes up out of the polar hole. Several of us can trace our ancestry back to the intrepid Viking explorers that settled northern Europe in the 7th century. Some later migrated to Iceland and some even further to the west coast of Greenland. These hardy arctic colonizers discovered every year that the more plentiful hunting was further to the north. Then in 1721 when Greenland was resettled, it was noticed that the Viking colonists had disappeared from Greenland. This was the subject of Arctic author Vilhajalmur Stefansson's book, Unsolved Mysteries of the Arctic. He thought they died out. But Lt. Green discovered where they went when he befriended the Eskimos and asked them point blank. The Eskimos told Lt. Green that the Viking colonists had migrated further and further north, then one day a hunting party returned saying they had discovered a paradise in the north -- a place the Eskimo had always known about, but generally stayed away from because they believed it to be inhabited by evil spirits. When the Viking exploration party had returned and delivered the wonderful news of their discovery, the Eskimos say that the Viking colonists all promptly packed their bags, and singing songs, departed happily northward out over the ice and never returned. Their cattle, chickens and other animals were later found wandering around their abandoned settlement by European visitors, but no settlers. They didn't think to ask the Eskimos what had happened to them. Lt. Green wrote an article in the December 1923 issue of Popular Science Monthly, that the Eskimo tradition is that out over the ice towards the northwest of Greenland, in the direction Admiral Peary sighted Crocker land and Dr. Cook sighted Bradley land, "...is a land that is warm; is clothed in summer verdure the year around; is populated by fat caribou and musk- ox. It lies," they say even to this day, "in the direction of the coastal trail- route north." This polar expedition proposes that we seek out that land where our cousins, the Greenland Vikings went, and visit them in their hidden land within the North Polar Opening that is within the hollow of our earth. Indications are that that land is inhabited. The story of the Scandinavian explorer Olaf Jansen and his father who attained that land through the north polar opening in 1829, maintains the people there are friendly, highly advanced in the sciences, arts, and geometry. And that they are ardent worshipers of the Israelite god Jehovah, whom they believe has a throne on the sun of inner earth. Most likely, since their god is Jehovah, these peoples of inner earth are actually the legendary Lost Ten Tribes of Israel, whom the Apocryphal author Esdras wrote, escaped the Assyrians in 687 BC and migrated to a region in the north called Arsareth, taking a year and half to reach that land. It's a veritable paradise. Deuteronomy 30:4 calls it the "outmost parts of heaven" where the lost tribes were driven from their original home in Palestine. Jeremiah called it "the land of the north." (Jer. 3:12-18) Other scriptures refer to it as the "north countries." It is a land where there is much gold, and abundance of precious stones, metals and giant forests. It is a veritable Garden of Eden. Indeed, Olaf Jansen claims that this is where the original Garden of Eden is located to this day -- within Our Hollow Earth. He was taken there on a monorail train of inner earth by friendly inner earth inhabitants. It is located on the highest mountain plateau of the inner continent where "...all manner of fruits, vines, shrubs, trees, and flowers grow in riotous profusion. In this garden four rivers have their source in a mighty artesian fountain. They divide and flow in four directions. The place is called by the inhabitants, the 'navel of the earth' or the beginning, 'the cradle of the human race.' The names of the rivers are Euphrates, the Pison, the Gihon, and the Hiddekel." (The Smoky God, p. 114) It is hoped that this expedition can find this outmost parts of Eden, a land within the North Polar Opening at or near 84.4 N. Latitude, 141 E. Longitude, about 1,700 miles directly north of the New Siberian Islands. For scientific purposes, gyroscopes will be taken to help determine the beginning of the entrance to inner earth. At the geographic North Pole, a gyroscope will be set horizontally. It will be used to detect a curvature greater than the normal earth curvature of 68.9 statute miles to a polar degree. Entrance into a polar opening will cause the gyroscope to tip gradually vertical. When it reaches vertical orientation, the ship should be located approximately half way through the polar opening. The ship's radar could then be bounced off the opposite side of the opening straight above the ship to determine the diameter of the polar opening at it's neck. A quarter of the way into the polar opening the inner sun should come within view over the horizon to the north, such as was reported by Olaf Jansen and Fridtjof Nansen. Thermometer readings from the crows nest should show a higher temperature from air emanating from within the hollow interior of the earth, than air down next to the ice. Temperatures farther south should be colder than further north with a north wind, such as was reported by Fridtjof Nansen. The sea should be tested periodically to find that point on the polar lip where centrifugal force separates the salt from the fresh water from iceberg melt water leaving fresh water on the surface of the ocean, as reported by Olaf Jansen and Fridtjof Nansen. A lookout should be maintained for drift wood, plants, dirt and rocks scraped off inner earth river banks and deposited on the icebergs as they were pushed out to sea. Land will be expected to be reached at a distance of about 1,700 statute miles north of the northernmost coast of Arctic lands, as reported by Admiral Byrd. Large rivers emptying into the sea should be found with land covered with lush vegetation. The inhabitants of inner earth will likely contact us with one of their ships or flying saucer type craft. Permission will be requested from them for further entrance into their world domain. Descendants of the original Lost Tribes and Viking colonists will hopefully be found there. With the verification that Our Earth IS indeed hollow with polar openings into the interior where descendants of the Lost Tribes of Israel and Greenland Viking colonists live, a revolutionary change will be required in all areas of history, education, the sciences and art. The theory of gravity will have to be revised to account for an inner earth surface upon which people can dwell normal earth-bound lives with their feet firmly planted on the ground, and not floating around in zero gravity, as orthodox science maintains would be the case in a hollow earth. The theory of evolution will be dealt a decisive blow with the establishment of the location of the actual, original Garden of Eden, indicating the historical accuracy of the Bible and the reality of our first parents, Adam and Eve. Fossil evidence confirms that at least six mass extinction's have occurred during Earth's history, the last being the Cretaceous period extinction some 65 million years ago. There have been several other less drastic waves of extinction's over the last 2.5 million years. A mass extinction is an event which destroys more than 50% of the Earth's species. The cause of these extinction's has not been verified with absolute certainty but popular scenarios include asteroid impacts and changing climate. With this ominous record of extinction's it is certainly worth contemplating the possibility that such a catastrophic event could occur again, seriously threatening the survival of the human race, and thus it is in our best interests to consider options to ensure that our species survive. Possible catastrophe's that could inflict grave damage to the human- race include; nuclear winter scenarios, global ice-age, asteroid impact, complete ozone depletion, catastrophic rise of sea levels and viral epidemics. One possible insurance policy for humanity would be a self-sufficient off-world colony – something that has been discussed extensively over the last few decades. However, the colonization and terraforming of another planet (probably Mars) is decades, if not centuries away from realization. Unfortunately nothing says that a catastrophic event would kindly wait for us to colonize Mars before it struck and as such I propose that a safe-guard is required that will guarantee the longevity of our species. Current fallout shelters are hopelessly inadequate to serve as long- term survival refuges should some disaster occur that might render the surface of the Earth uninhabitable for periods of decades, centuries or more. I thus propose the concept of an `Earth Colony' which will be defined as a structure that would: • Survive any conceivable catastrophe • Be a self-sufficient home to a selected cross section of the human race • Preserve the sum of human knowledge • Facilitate the `repopulation' of Earth at some arbitrarily distant future time A discussion of each of the above provisos follows. `Survive any conceivable catastrophe' Clearly to survive any catastrophe the location of a colony is of paramount importance. An obvious geographical trait would be to position an Earth colony deep underground where it would be isolated and shielded naturally from any devastating effects such as nuclear explosion and fallout, asteroid impact, flooding and bacteriological infection. `Be a self-sufficient home to a selected cross section of the human race' In a `worst case scenario' all reliance on the Earth and its inhabitants needs to be abandoned. Thus the colony should be completely self sufficient. This clearly requires a complete mastery of recycling technology which does not currently exist. However extremely credible early attempts at self sufficiency exist in the current space station efforts and the `Biosphere' concepts which is an ongoing experiment at fully isolated self-sufficiency. Evidently the technology for the Colony is not yet in place thus accelerated research in this area is required, however this clearly parallels the research efforts of NASA in building lunar and martian bases thus expertise and help could be found within the aerospace industries where previous feasibility studies and projects have already been accomplished. A colony should have adequate energy resources to power the recycling mechanisms and to provide light and warmth to the colonists. A fission generator would no doubt be extremely useful, perhaps adapted from nuclear submarine technology. However if the colony is to survive indefinitely then other options for energy creation should exist. Possibilities include the utilization of geothermal and hydrothermal energy and other renewable sources such as solar energy (assuming the earth will not be perpetually cloud covered) and wind power. Clearly with a supply of disposable energy and gas recycling systems a district within the colony could be cultivated to grow food and nurture animals which would be used to sustain the citizens of the colony. `Preserve the sum of human knowledge' Tantamount to the preservation of the human species is the preservation of our accumulated knowledge. An optimum survival and `terrestrial repopulation' scenario would be one in which we would be able to return to the technological level that we found ourselves in before the catastrophe occurred. Thus, colonies should be equipped a full library of human knowledge including the vast repository of information that is the Internet. It is certainly a possibility that in the near future our scientists will become sufficiently adept at animal cloning. If this is that case then it would be practical for us to collect a huge library of genetic samples from as many animals as possible such that if and when the time came for humans to begin repopulating the Earth after some catastrophe, then we could also reintroduce the animals. A colony should be prepared for human births and also have the capacity to nurture children and to teach them about their future roles in preserving humanity and the future reseeding of Earth. Life within the colony would not be luxurious but the inhabitants should exist comfortably with warmth, food and education. Section 2 - Life in a Colony Inter-Colony Communication In the worst case scenarios the colonists would be the sole survivors of humanity. If a number of colonies were built then each must have contact with the other to allow for the future coordination of survival efforts with plans for the evacuation of entire colonies should some major life-support system fail. The Role of Colonists The Role of Colonists Colonists will not exist merely for the sake of existence but also to play constructive roles as members of the surviving human race. Colonists could potentially perform sweeps of the surface of the Earth in an attempt to either locate pockets of surviving humans or find areas where it would be possible to repopulate the surface. Telemetry links to earth observation satellites would make it possible to locate regions on Earth where photosynthesis occurs. Colonies would be equipped with the capacity to explore the Earths surface in rovers and possibly aerial vehicles to transport equipment or to perform missions including search and rescue operations. Colonists would be skilled in a range of fields, predominantly scientific, and would be constantly engaged in research related directly to the survival of the colonists. This could take the form of improvements in recycling, health improvements, colony system improvements, greater search capacities and improvement of life within a colony. SOS Should the absolute worst-case scenario ever occur that would render the surface of the earth completely uninhabitable and lifeless then a desperate last effort to save humanity would need to be undertaken. It is conceivable that a powerful transmitter could be erected with the capacity to broadcast an `SOS' signal. Many scientists today have a `gut-feeling' that intelligent life exists beyond our solar system. If a catastrophe where to make the Earth completely uninhabitable then the surviving human race (the colonists) would be doomed to spend eternity in the colony until either the sun turned red giant or the colony naturally succumbed to failure. Thus, in this bleak scenario our only chance would be to hope for another intelligence to pick up a distress signal and come to our aid. Although this is recognizably far-fetched it would be the only hand that the human race would be left to play. Part 3 - Summary I am neither a pessimist nor a `doomsday-soothsayer'. I do recognize however that probabilistically small, but still very real threats exist to humanity in the form of numerous `apocalypse' scenarios discussed briefly in the introduction. I strongly believe that safeguards should be established that would unequivocally guarantee the safety and longevity of our species and enable future generations to rebuild and repopulate the Earth. My suggestion for this safe- guard comes in the form of the `Earth Colony' discussed in this article. *************************************************************** Australian flying car caught on Satellite photo.
