The Varieties of Rice

There are many different forms of rice, different combinations and recipes.  However, all these varieties basically stem from 4 main groups, or colors of rice.  These four groups are red rice, yellow rice, brown rice, and white rice.  Each group is distinctly different and have different pros and cons.

Red Rice (AKA Wild Rice):  This variety of rice was very abundant and popular in the Americas until the early 1800s.  White rice primarily became the main rice of choice in the America and drive red rice into obscurity.  Red rice nowadays is very rare to come by and is sometimes eaten for a strange and exotic flavor.  However, after a helping or two, it becomes rather obvious why it was driven into obscurity: red rice is a very unsophisticated taste and a little too old fashioned.

Brown Rice: Most definitely the worst rice of all.  Brown rice has very odd texture and just tastes bad.  Brown rice does not mix well with other varieties.  The horrible taste of brown rice will easily overpower the more sophisticated taste of other varieties when mixed together and will overall ruin the mixture.  However, those who like brown rice only like brown rice.  They demand that brown rice is superior and refuse to accept the simple truth: The world would be a lot better place without brown rice.

Yellow Rice: Yellow rice is very common in Chinese restaurants.  Yellow rice is cheaper than white rice, but still is able to very closely emulate the taste of white.  While being able to emulate white, it also retains some of its original flavor, which many people actually prefer.  The grains in yellow rice are generally smaller than the other varieties, but those who use yellow rice claim that "size doesn't matter".  Well, I'm not so sure if I believe that.  Overall, yellow rice is a very abundant and delectable variety of rice.  While not being nearly as versatile as white rice, it is truly a strong contender.

White Rice:  White rice is truly the superior and most evolved form of rice.  White rice tastes the best, it is the most versatile, the most reliable, and the most sophisticated of all the rice varieties.  White rice can be found in all houses across the world, in fact, it is truly the favored variety.  When people think of rice, they think of white rice.  IT is the epitome of what rice is supposed to be like.  And after looking over the facts, it asy to say that the world would be a better place if there only existed White Rice.
