My art pal and her he-man husband hosted their annual Zappafest in August. It was the usual amount of fun, platters upon crocks of food, and hi jinx. Zappa music all night long. Yes, I did taste all of the home brews, but my real attention settled in on the strawberry-kiwi drink. Very tasty!
This is a party of what I call eco-hippies. The girls don’t wear make up and the boys have beards. Everyone let’s their hair go gray. They are natural and you can just tell that they are good recyclers, bicyclers.
M added a gazebo to her beautiful garden. It’s a spirited piece made of rebar and blue glass bottles. You see the blue bottle on trees down south. They are made to ward off evil.
The other pic is of the hops growing up the front of their house. Gorgeous!
M and I are both artgirls and gardeners. Last year I set up a project to make English troughs with her, but 9.11 happened and we never got to it. We are planning to do it this year. I still have all of the peat bales, concrete, and soil. And M now is the proud owner of her own cement mixer! Thanks to a fence project she and her honey did. YOW! How cool is that?! So we will use the MIXER! to do our alchemical mixes.
I have such cool friends.
Man o man, sometimes I look strange. Here I seem to resemble an iguana, which is somewhat appropriate since another friend of mine just got an iguana and named him Zappa. See, life really is circular.
