Chapter Eight

Six Months Later Stacie sat at the kitchen table in her light blue dress drumming her long fingers on the table in a rhytmic pattern. She had the candles sat out on the table, the plates in their respected places, all she was waiting for now was the food. If it wasn't ready soon, Jackie and her would have to wait.

The pass six months have been the most hectic, but most rewarding time in her life. It wasn't long before half the town found out the two were dating. Much to their suprise, the town supported their decision. After all, it was their life, no one could tell them how to do it.

Then, in September, Stacie turned 19, Jackie teamed up with Jessica and planned a huge suprise bash that lasted all night long. Everyone ended up staying all night because everyone was pretty much drunk.

Their relationship was going really well. But one thing that Stacie knew Jackie hated was the part where she wasn't ready for sex yet. She loved Jackie with all her heart, but she wanted to make sure this relationship could really work out before she gave up something as prized as her virginity. She wanted to make sure that Jackie was really someone who cared, and she was begining to realize she was. It was only a matter of time before both of them got what they wanted.

The oven timer sounded jolting her out of her thoughts. She smiled removing the food from the oven and placing it on the counter to cool. She heard a vehicle and knew that Jackie was there. She waited until she knocked on the door. She greeted her with a kiss and Jackie greeted her with flowers.

"That was some dinner." Jackie said patting her stomach,"I just hope I don't gain a few extra pounds." she laughed.

"I don't think you have to worry about that, you can eat all you want to without gaining anything!"

Jackie leaned over kissing Stacie. Her tongue entered her mouth wrestling with Stacie's. She pulled away."I almost forgot. I have something in the truck. I will be right back. Don't go anywhere."

Stacie watched her rush out the door and her heard her slam her truck door. Soon enough the door opened again."This is something that I've thought long and hard about. Well, Chip helped me out a lot with this." she sunk to the floor kneeling in front of Stacie. She pulled out a small jewelery box. "I've never felt like this before, not to any person I've ever dated. You've had a real impact on my life, and I was wondering if you would marry me?"

Stacie's eyes bulged out of her head."Wh-? Are you kidding?"she said stuttering.

"No, I'm not. I love you so much. I want you to marry me ."

Stacie was crying, she couldn't speak. She nodded and watched Jackie put the ring on her finger. She pulled her close into a tight embrace to comfort her."I'm sorry, I didn't think I would make you cry."

"No,it's ok. Trust me, these are good tears."

Jackie stayed over at Stacies several nights in a row and helped her plan the commitment ceremony. But planning wasn't the only thing they did. Stacie was looking for something in the closet which required her to take everything out that wasn't it. Jackie tugged on a box."Twister?"

"Yeah, it's where you spin the spinner and put your hands and feet on the colored dots getting all twisted up."

"I've never played it before."

"Never?"

Jackie shook her head."Well,"Stacie said,"We can play right now, if you want."

She shook her head. They moved some furniture and placed the board on the floor, the spinner within arm's reach.

"I'll go first." Stacie said spinning the spinner. It landed on right arm blue. She walked over to the board and placed her hand on the spot. Jackie spun and got left leg red. They continued playing until the two were really twisted together. Jackie was laying over Stacie's back her arm under her stomach. Stacie reach out, spun and got right leg green. She strected but to no avail, the women collapsed in a laughing heap on the floor.

Stacie turned over still caught under her lover."That was fun, wasn't it?"

"Yes, very fun. It's fun getting twisted up with the one you love."

"Oh Jackie stop it." she said playfully swatting her arm.

"I mean it." She leaned in, her soft lips touching Stacie's. She pulled her close as they started a make out session. Jackie began brave and ran her hands up and down her body, stopping on her stomach. She started to remove Stacie's shirt but stopped herself,"Are you sure you're ready?"

"Yes." she said hoarsly. Jackie pulled her shirt off over her head and tossed it aside without a care. She kissed down Stacies neck causing her to groan. She tugged at her bra, pulling it off and throwing it aside just like her shirt. She gasped at the site of her lovers exposed chest. Her nipples becoming hard from the air. Jackie licked each in turn pulling a nipple into her mouth sucking gently.

She removed her own clothing and finished undressing Stacie. Their breathing was fast paced and showed no signs of slowing down. Jackie kissed down her stomach enjoying the sounds she heard her beautiful lover make. She kissed farther down until she reached the object of her desire. She used two fingers feeling Stacie's wetness wrapped around them. She sucked and flicked sliding her fingers in and out. Stacie moaned and bucked her hips as her first orgasam with another woman hit her with a wave of pleasure. Jackie continued and gave her another. She fell to the floor beside Stacie.

After Stacie's breathing returned to almost normal, she climbed on top of Jackie."Now it's your turn."

She licked long lines down from her neck to her taut stomach. She drew patterns on her stomach and encircled her nipples. Jackie's moaning caused Stacie to push out any thoughts of nervousness and let the moment lead her on what to do.

Her left hand found the wetness between her legs. She rubbed and slid two fingers in, pleasuring her with her mouth and fingers. She moaned and bucked against her mouth and fingers as she came like a tidal wave again and again. Stacie pulled her fingers from her partner licking her juices off of them. She climbed beside Jackie,"I love you."

"I love you too."

The next couple days were a blur. Between working and, planing for the ceremony and hanging with friends, Stacie and Jackie barely had any alone time, just time to sit talk or whatever. So intstead of waiting around for that time to come, Stacie jumped in the car and headed to Jackies house.

The first thing she noticed when she pulled into the driveway was a strange vehicle. One that she really couldn't place to a person. But she dismissed it because it was probably someone she knew but she just wasn't thinking about it at the moment. She knocked on the door several times and got no answer. She knew she was home because her truck was in the driveway. She tested the doorknob and found it was open so she walked right on it."Hello?" she said getting no reply.

She walked around the corner and was taken back by what she was seeing. Jackie was seated on the couch, and woman on her lap. They were engaged in a kiss. She stood there, mouth open, utterly quiet for awhile. She got up the courage to speak. "What the hell is going on here?"

They both jumped. Jackie quickly pushed the girl off of her."This isn't what it looks like."

"No? Well you could have fooled me."

"Stace listen to me. This wasn't supposed to happen. She-"

"You know what, I don't want excuses. I should be going and leave you two alone." she said eyes blazing with anger. She turned walking briskly from the living room. She could hear Jackie's footsteps behind her as she ran after her. Slowly, tears began to fall.

"Stace would you just stop and listen to me?"

She stopped and turned to face her,"As far as I'm concerned, there is nothing to talk about." she turned and jumped into her car speeding away and to her house. The tears were now flowing in a steady stream. As soon as she pulled into her driveway, she ran into the house because she had a feeling Jackie would be coming after her. As soon as the door was closed, she collapsed in a heap sobbing.

A few minutes later, she heard the familar sound of Jackie's truck pulling into the driveway, and the urgency in which she shut the door. She knocked a few times on the door, when Stacie didn't answer she began talking and knocking."Stace open up so we can talk about this like two adults."

"What is there to talk about?" came her muffled reply.

"We need to talk about what you saw."

"I know perfectly what I saw. I saw my girlfriend kissing another girl. Jackie what the hell am I supposed to think."

"It's not what you think." she said sternly.

"I don't care to hear your excuses. I thought you loved me, and then I go to your house and see that."

"You don't understand. I do love you."

She got up to walk away from the door. She didn't want to hear what she had to say. But something pulled her back."If you love me, why the hell were you kissing the other girl?"

"Let me in so we can talk about this." Stacie never moved from her spot. The doorknob jiggled showing her frustration."Dammit Stace!"

"Why don't you just go home?"

"I can't."

"Why?"

"Because I love you."

Stacie's hand slapped the door as she spoke,"I loved you too. I gave myself to you. I thought you loved me back. What a fool I was."

"No, you don't understand. I am not going to let this end like this. We need to talk."

"No we don't."

It was Jackie's turn to hit the door, unlike Stacie it was harder."Why the hell won't you listen to me? If you really love me, you would be willing to let me in so we can talk about this!"

"Jackie just go."

"No."

" I can't believe you were lying to me this whole time."

"Stace hon, you don't know what you are talking about."

Stacie lashed out, hitting the door with the side of her fist,"I can't believe you. I can't believe you let me fall for you knowing this, knowing what you were doing!" She didn't bother to wipe the tears streaming down her face."Damn you! Damn you. Just leave."

"Stace, no you don't understand."

She set and listened to Jackie's repeated requests to come in and talk. She ignored them all. Finally she heard her hit the door one last time and leave. She knew she couldn't ignore her forever, she worked with her. She was her partner. It was just the matter of being professional and not let their relationship troubles get in the way of their job. Sobbing, she stood and ran into her bedroom where she threw herself on the bed and cried herself into a restless sleep.

On Monday morning, she was reluctant to get out of bed. Ever since that incident on Saturday, Jackie left her messages on the answering machine, and stopped by several times trying to coax her into talking, but Stacie would hear nothing of it. Maybe later on, she would want to talk, but now was not the time. After considering that she should go to work instead of calling and taking a personal day, she got dressed and headed to the station.

Jackie was already there talking to Kevin and Carol. She saw me and smiled. I turned away, said hello and clocked in. She moved into the kitchen to grab her morning cup of coffee. She heard the door open, she didn't have to turn around to know who it was.

"Hey." she said. Stacie didn't look at her. She went on making her coffee."So I guess you still aren't talking to me."

"You got that right."

"Why can't you give me some time to talk about this? I have been trying, but you won't take 5 seconds to give me time."

"Jackie, not right now."

"Tell me something Stace,if you don't want to talk to me, and you don't feel nothing for me anymore, why are you still wearing the ring? Can you tell me that much?"

Stacie didn't even realize that she was wearing the ring she had gotten from her a few weeks before she caught Jackie kissing the other woman. She moved her hand causing the diamonds to shine in the light."I don't know. I've just never really paid attention I guess."

"Oh, don't tell me that, that is such a lie."

Stacie turned around in time to catch Kevin and Carol duck outside of the kitchen. She thought she felt several other pairs of eyes on them."I'm not lying. I've had so much on my mind, I've never really thought about it."

"You know what? Fine, if that is the way you want it, I can play that way too." The siren sounded, both women ran out of the kitchen startling Kevin and Carol who had been eavesdropping the entire time. Luckily those two could drop the subject.
