Task 3 is about change. This is the rhythm beginning. This is art literacy expanding because developing art technique put realism into art.
Look at Altarpiece, Beatified Bishop and Beatified Pope © Gemāldegalerie, Berlin. Cennino d'Andrea Cennini's Altarpiece is artwork with in-depth dimension and use of shadow for perspective. It is symmetrical and balanced as two separate paintings and they appear balanced with equal symmetry together. Early Christian era work has little perspective or dimension. In other words, the subjects were painted flat on the artwork's surface, especially icons from the Christian art era. Symmetrical balance was a common presentation of subject matter.
It was at this point art changed into dynamic realism with perspective, or the use of Euclidean geometry. Leon Battista Alberti gave art the formula for subsequent artists to follow in his lead in making the world man-centric instead of God-centric. Painting became realistic and landscapes were included. Leonardo da Vinci was first to paint landscapes. The world then went from the early Christian era to man-heroes and people who could control their own ideals.
