MakeTap Task 11

      Maketap Task 11 asks you to consider Kepler's Laws. You do not have to be a mathematician to understand algebra and geometry. Teamwork is not always known for theorists, inventors, and scientists living at the same time. Teamwork often takes place well after the life of a famed person who inspired someone else to pick up a notable contribution. You should understand teamwork throughout history played a vital part in arriving to science's physics and astronomy today. The scientists, Galileo Galilei, Nicolaus Copernicus, Johannes Kepler, Tycho Brahe, and Isaac Newton acted as a team across the eras. Their teamwork meant they improved the rules of orbital dynamics as science went forward.

Physics

Copernican Laws: The planetary orbit is a circle. The Sun at the center of the orbit. The speed of the planet in the orbit is constant.

Kepler's corrections were: The planetary orbit is not a circle, but an ellipse. The Sun is not at the center but at a focal point of the elliptical orbit. Neither the linear speed nor the angular speed of the planet in the orbit is constant, but the area speed is constant.

      Newton's Laws of Motion:

Law I: Every body persists in its state of being at rest or of moving uniformly straight forward, except insofar as it is compelled to change its state by force impressed.

Law II: The alteration of motion is ever proportional to the motive force impress'd; and is made in the direction of the right line in which that force is impress'd.

Law III: To every action there is always opposed an equal reaction: or the mutual actions of two bodies upon each other are always equal, and directed to contrary parts.
