Pottruff was London’s 6th round choice (76th overall) in the 2003 OHL Priority Selection and had just returned to the Knights’ lineup on December 8th, after recovering from a broken leg suffered in pre-season. The Woodstock, Ontario native was drafted by the Carolina Hurricanes in the 7th round of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
