Halo X Tournament
Mood:  a-ok
Now Playing: "Annie Waits" by Ben Folds Five
Yet another Halo tournament... it isn't Halo 2 though. It's a tournament with a Halo game, a Halo CE game, and two Halo 2 games. And guess what? I played it! It only had six players total and was very heated. It was played on the Net. Here we GOOOOOO!

PLAYERS:
Red Team (Team Spartan) - George, Alton, Pete
Blue Team (The Mutants) - Me, Connor, Mike (yeah, the Mike from last tournament)

GAME 1:
Game: Halo
Map: Sidewinder
Gametype: CTF Pro
Additional Specifications: All vehicles (Hog, Ghost, tank), 10 minute time limit.
Duration: 10:00
Coverage: This game was extremely unfair. I got in the Ghost and the rest of the team piled into the Scorpion with Connor driving. On Red Team, Pete got in the Warthog gunner seat, waiting for us. Alton had gone upstairs and gotten the sniper rifle, and George, who is notorious for being offensive always, got in the tank. I had noticed George getting in the tank and went up a sidecliff. I was within toe's reach of a rocket launcher when Alton sniped me. S.O.B., that Alton. Anyway, I played it safe and went upstairs and got my sniper rifle. Connor killed the tank and Alton, but got shot out by Pete. Mike got outta the Scorp and tried to shoot Pete, but got shot himself. When they respawned, they got in the Hog and raided the base once more... getting shot once more. This continued for the rest of the game in various forms until finally, in a Ghost, Connor got the flag. He made it halfway to the base until Alton rocketed him. I saw this in my sniper scope and raced to the Hog to stop Alton from returning the flag. I succeeded and made the game's only score. For the remaining 3 minutes, the Red team tried to get our flag, but Mike is a formidable sniper, and I am a formidable Warthog gunner. So they didn't even get close. Before we knew it time was up and the baritone "Game Over" voice played. We won, but we almost didn't.

More coverage tomorrow, or maybe even later today...

OH YEAH, PS, THIS MONDAY OFF ROCKS! W00t!

Final Round: Halo 2 Tournament
Mood:  lazy
Now Playing: "Mombasa", a fan made Halo piece, which is actually kinda pretty.
Here's the last round of the tournament.

PLAYERS:
Red Team - Me, Vincent, Bobby, Ted
Blue Team - Manuel, Matthew, Will, Mike

GAME 4:
Map: Headlong
Game: Team Slayer
Additional Specifications: 30 kills to win, Primary light vehicle = Guass Warthog, No primary heavy vehicle, Start with SMG and Shotgun, All dual weapons on map.
Duration: 9:02
Coverage: The match started out quiet. We all got set for the slaying up ahead. I got in the passenger seat of a Hog, Shotgun in hand, and waited a few seconds for Bobby to get in the guns and Vincent to drive. Ted made his way, on foot, to Blue Team's base. Speaking of Blue Team, Matthew and Mike found dual SMGs and were waiting for some people to kick. Manuel got in the Guass Cannon, and Will decided to hide in a corner and attempt to board a Hog. I shot down Mike and Bobby got Manuel and Matthew. Will came out of his corner and was about to get a shotgun slug in the chest from his truly (thats me), but Manuel respawned right in front of him and took it. Bobby was busy blowing up Blue Team's Hogs, and I got shot down. From this point on, I wasn't paying any attention to anything except my screen, so this coverage isn't complete. From what I heard, Blue Team managed to hijack our Hog's guns and they sacrificed a member to blow the Hog up with a well-placed Guass shot. I was busy scouting for more guns, and I got a Needler to dual-wield with my SMG. I also racked up 4 frags and a plasma nade. I hid in a hole and waited. By the time Manuel finally came over to my spot, my team had 16 kills and the Blues had 14. I shot Manuel down, but he took me with him by sticking me with a plasma nade. When I respawned, I toted my big, bad Shotgun and followed Bobby into the Blue base. We successfully got in, and I covered Bobby while he mercilessly killed recently spawned players. I saw Mike escape and chased him down. It was a short fight: my Shotgun vs. his back. You know who won. I made my way back to the base and found Will beating a dead Bobby with the butt of his Shotgun. He didn't see me, and I snuck around to his back and got him with a nice melee attack. I got in the enemy Guass cannon and shot everything. I think I accidentally landed one on Ted! I quickly peeped the score, which was 20 Red to 15 Blue. I realized too late that a Blue player had taken advantage of my score-checking and boarded me. He shot me too. I mainly just guarded the base for the rest of the match. Final score was 30 Red to 27 Blue. Much smiling, taunting, and pizza-munching on the Red Team. Much pouting and bitching on Blue Team.

FINAL TOURNAMENT OUTCOME: Tie

----------------------------------------------------

And I actually sweated during that match! Well, I gotta go, see ya next time as I count sheep for you! I'll start now! One, two, three...

Continued: Halo 2 Tournament + Nintendo DS + Thoughts on Yoga
Now Playing: "Remembrance", downloaded from bungie.net's Halo 2 section
Here's the third round of the tournament. The final round will be posted later today or tomorrow.

PLAYERS:
Red Team - Me, Vincent, Bobby, Ted
Blue Team - Manuel, Matthew, Will, Mike

GAME 3:
Map: Zanzibar
Game: CTF
Additional Specifications: Two captures won, 10 minute time limit.
Duration: 8:50
Coverage: The match started out pumped. My team was the attacker, and we got our necessary attacking stuff. I grabbed a Ghost, Bobby and Vincent got in the Guass Hog, and Ted left his Ghost to go get a sniper rifle on the sea wall and pick off some Blue team stragglers. Meanwhile, everyone in Blue team guarded the base, except for Matthew, who went for his beloved rocket launcher. Vincent "Guassed" him to kingdom come. Ted sniped Will twice, and someone else once (wasn't paying attention, sorry). Bobby got out of the Hog and went for the flag. In that short time when I was guarding a spot with my Ghost and Vincent was waiting patiently in his seat, all hell broke loose. Manuel snuck up on me, but I was too quick for him. I turned to the left in an attempt to shoot him to death, and he jumped toward me and boarded me! I boarded him right back, and then he threw a frag under my Ghost and ran. I boosted to avoid it, but I was too late, and my Ghost got destroyed, burning me in hot alien metal. Vincent had not seen any of this, and was concentrating on Mike, who was making his way up the ramp to get to the turret. He blew the turret, but then ate two plasma grenades from Will and died. Matthew, meanwhile, was trying to get to the energy sword in the wheel. When I respawned at the beach, I got in the last Ghost and rushed to him, lazering his sorry ass until he fell off. Ted had been sniping for a long time in his perch, but Manuel spotted him at long last and threw a frag. Ted backpedaled and avoided it. He went back down to the beach to... guess what... hide. Yep. He hid. Back in the Blue base, Bobby has successfully acquired the flag and he was running from Will, who had entered the base and found him. He did a back-melee on Will with the flag and got him. Mike tried to get to Bobby, but was too late. Bobby dropped his flag and used an entire clip from his SMG to kill Mike. He quickly reacquired the flag and ran his butt off. I had gone back to base, gotten Ted out of hiding, and got out of my Ghost. I drove the Hog, and Ted got in the gunner seat. We were gonna go save Bobby's ass. Vincent had respawned and was off to shoot some Blue team ass with his dual-wielded SMG and Plasma Rifle. I drove over to the sea wall entrance and saw Bobby coming, flag in hand. Behind him, with an energy sword, was Manuel! Ted shot Manuel, but also took Bobby in doing so. I got out, took the flag, and fled to my base. I scored. All that time, nobody from Red team had bothered to come for our flag. They were guarding theirs. Now, angered, they finally came... sorta. They sent Mike in a Ghost to come for our flag, and posted Manuel at the Sniper's Roost on the side of the map to pick off attackers from our team. Matthew and Will were still concerned with guarding the flag. By now, all of Red team was at the base, and we were ALL trying to guard the flag. Bobby gets worried, thinking Blue Team had sent everyone to get this flag. The rest of us were thinking there would be two people. But, alas, Mike finally showed up, alone, in his Ghost. Bobby boarded him and Ted finished him off with some SMG fire. In his Ghost, Bobby set off for Blue base. Ted and I once again paired up in the Warthog once it spawned, and Vincent took the passenger seat with his trusty Battle Rifle. Manuel, at his sniper post, landed a headshot on Ted. I had no gunner. Worried, I told Vincent to get in the back, but on his way, he saw something terrible: Manuel had left his post to get our flag. He quickly told me to get back to base. He was going to help get Blue team's flag. I went back to base, and saw a dead body, presumably the respawned Ted's. Manuel was standing over it, mere feet away from the flag. Thus the epic Manuel vs. Stewart (that's my name) battle began. I tried running him over, but he boarded me before I could. I rushed back to board him, but he E-braked and got out. He was running to get something, but I couldn't see what it was. Only too late did I finally realize what it was. It was a rocket launcher. Manuel aimed and fired, and I deftly dodged his lethal capsule of death, but only just. I made my way to the staircase leading up to the sea wall and he fired again, this time a bit above my position. By the time the rocket arrived at it's destination, I was there. I died and Manuel proceeded to take the flag and run. I respawned, spotted Manuel, and chased him. Back at Blue base, everyone (with the exception of Manuel, myself, and Ted) was fighting for the flag. It was so chaotic I couldn't find out what was going on at first. By the time I caught on, Will had been killed by someone, and the flag had been captured and taken out by Bobby. Matthew, Mike, and Will formed a triangle around Bobby and shot him. They walked over the flag, returning it to base, where Vincent waited patiently. He rushed to the flag and took it. He got in the remaining turret first, gunning Mike and Will down to lessen his troubles. He got in Bobby's parked Ghost and sped off. Ted, who had respawned ages ago, was waiting for someone to come close to his position so he could shoot them down with his newly acquired Shotgun. His wish was never granted. I was furiously trying to keep up with Manuel, who was running over to an SMG. He dropped his Battle Rifle in favor of the bullet hose he had come across. Perfect for me. I picked up the Battle Rifle and landed two headshots that brought Manuel down at last. I made my way to my base, aware that my team was about to win. I wanted to see Vincent do it. I wanted to see us win. Vincent scored and the deep "Game Over" announcement played. The outcome: Red team wins. At last, I might add.

----------------------------------------------------

Whew... what a game! And that was only the third round! Wait 'till you see the coverage of the final round! In other news...

I got to test out the Nintendo DS today at a Toys R Us and it ROCKS! The touch pad is buggy, but you don't need to use it, at least, not for the game I played (ahem, Metroid Prime Hunters). The controls are great and the graphics are GAMECUBE QUALITY!!!

You read right.

Yoga sucks.

Yoga sucks.

And oh yeah, yoga sucks.

----------------------------------------------------

Goodbye! Oh yeah, almost forgot... here's the official (and currently incomplete) website for my Halo mod. Halo SE Main Site.

Big kisses (just kidding dude).

Halo 2 Tournament
Mood:  energetic
Now Playing: "Ancient Machine" from the Halo 2 soundtrack
I fought in a Halo 2 tournament (LAN party) with some buddies last night. It was four games long and EXTREMELY fun. Here's an in-depth coverage of the first two games.

All matches were timed so we have precise timings for them.

PLAYERS:
Red Team - Myself, Vincent, Bobby, Ted
Blue Team - Manuel, Matthew, Mike, Will

GAME 1:
Map: Battle Creek
Game: CTF
Additional Specifications: Two captures won.
Duration: 6:34
Coverage: The match started out fun, with Matthew getting the rocket launcher and me scoring two kills in one minute (with ONE SMG, I might add). Matthew killed Vincent twice and Bobby once. He got our flag and scored. Manuel then accidentally killed Mike with a plasma grenade attempting to kill Bobby. Bobby, of course, took advantage of the confusion and grabbed Blue's flag. He didn't make it past the creek, but I grabbed the flag and scored, narrowly missing a few rockets from Matthew (who never died once in this game). Five minutes in, this HUGE ASS EXPLOSION in the base kills Ted and myself. The explosion was two frags AND a rocket from Blue team! They took our flag, sped off, and scored at 6:34 minutes in. Game over. Blue team wins.

GAME 2:
Map: Outskirts Courtyard (I made it, its just like the singleplayer map)
Game: Team King
Additional Specifications: Two minutes in the uncontested hill won. All weapons on map were duals, starter weapon was plasma rifle.
Duration: 11:17 (remove one 1 and its 117, our hero SPARTAN!)
Coverage: The game started... interestingly, with Ted jumping onto the Pelican crash site and taking the SMG I put up there. He then went on the rooftops and jumped down on Manuel, meleeing him in the head. He controlled the hill for 0:41 until Mike killed him and took it. Mike got a shocking 0:03 score until I nailed him with a few needles in the back. Will snuck up on me however, so I had no time in the hill (he contested it). I killed Will and then ate frags from Manuel. I was a goner. I respawned in a wall (map error) and quit the game, joining again a few seconds later. I immediatly stuck a plasma grenade to Mike, who ran up to Matthew and took him out with himself. Then, I realized that Manuel had taken the hill and accumulated almost nine minutes! I tried to shoot him in the back, but he was too quick and got me. The rest of the game was spent trying to take out Manuel, who was too good for us. Blue team won. Again. Damn.

MORE COVERAGE SOON

That's right: only those 4.

----------------------------------------------

Mayan Math is STOOPEED.

----------------------------------------------

Pokemon Crystal emulation now includes all up to Ruins of Alph. Goldenrod construction in progress.

----------------------------------------------

Jargon means slang. I thought it meant penis. So *ahem* I called this ass at my school a jargonbreath. Needless to say, it backfired.

----------------------------------------------

Answer to last times encoded message: Halo 2 includes a grenade launcher.

WHOA it's been a while, hasn't it?
Now Playing: "London Calling" by The Clash, "Take Me Out" by Franz Ferdinand, and "Time and Time Again" by Chronic Future
It's been so freakin' long since I updated this thing. I don't know what happened. Well, I'm here to say that I am, indeed, still alive. So, here ya go:

Harry Potter 4 has entered Alpha Phase! Which means, of course, that the DVD is being constructed AS I SPEAK! Over the past month, filming's been great, Emma went to a football game with me, and school's lightened up a bit.

Halo 2 has entered the duplication phase. Unfortunatly, someone got hold of it and now it's been leaked. But that has not affected the release of the game. I'm on the BALLS OF MY FEET in anticipation of this damn game!

I am opening an online emulation of Pokemon Crystal (only up to Azalea Town though) where your Pokemon have GUNS! WOOHOO!

I will close my updates with encoded messages. It's up to you to figure out what they mean. They all have important insider information of amateur Hollywood, real Hollywood, or videogames. Here's today's:
.rehcnual edanerg a sedulcni 2 olaH

Goodbye, all!

More Star Wars DVD Stuff + Script News + Voldemort's Return: The Snoop's Report
Now Playing: "Adding to the Noise" by Switchfoot + "All the Lonely People" by the Beatles
Hey guys. Had a long week at school, not very fun. I failed my Math quiz, got an A+ on my Geography and English quizzes, and got a HUGE assignment for over the weekend in Spanish. But more on that in a bit.

STAR WARS ORIGINAL TRILOGY DVDS ARE OUT!

Over the next few days, I'll be covering all of the four DVDs. First, it's:

Picture Quality: 5/5 - Great digital cleanup. You never see any static or fuzziness. Excellent!
Quality of Film Itself: 4/5 - Gets kinda boring midway, but hang in there... the last few scenes are the best.
Effects: 5/5 - They didn't need to change too many of the effects. They're great. There's an excellent shot of a Bantha herd right before the sail barge scene. Wasn't even in the Special Edition.
Finale: 3/5 - The new Hayden Christensen addition at the end sucks. The Ewok celebration never really floated my boat. Otherwise, pretty cool. I like the views you get of the Tattoine celebration.
Sound Quality: 4/5 - Every now and then it gets a little fuzzy, but you never hear any static, which is a plus.

Images:

Hayden Christensen replaces Sebastion Shaw at the Ewok celebration

Leia in her slave outfit, now much clearer thanks to digital cleanup

I know this isn't ROTJ (its ANH), but the view is amazing and the Tattoine celebration view is similar

In other news...

I have completed the scripts for Secret Agents 2 and Oregon Vortex. I'm not so happy with Oregon Vortex, so I'll do a second draft on that one. Secret Agents 3 and 4 are now being written and I expect them to be done by December at the latest. I know I haven't revealed much about the plots of any of these, but that won't remain true for long. You'll get a sneak peak at the Secret Agents script once I type it (I write scripts in longhand, then type them so the actor's can read the scripts... I have terrible handwriting).

Also, I have had the pleasure of reading a rough draft of the scene where Voldemort returns to power in GoF. Never got the final draft, sorry. All I'm gonna spill is that there's some new spooky dialouge that's not in the book. And it's gonna rock more than all the Star Wars saber battles combined.

A final picture:

Ciao, guys.

Star Wars DVD Menu Shots + Halo News + IMDb Shoutouts
Menu shots for the upcoming Star Wars Original Trilogy DVD set. Out this Tuesday!

Shoutouts to Shaun and Basey and Meadeskeltonfan at IMDb!

News in Halo... well, I played some CTF on Derelict... it was pretty fun, I got the flag to my base once, and I kicked ass with the rocket launcher at one point. Did a pretty good melee at a running target too, I got him in the side and managed to kill him in one hit.

No other news. Life's been pretty normal lately. Next time I'll give you more DVD captures, and maybe even some Star Wars Episode III stuff!
