Has anyone else noticed that there is far more coverage of the Palestinian/Israeli War on the local news than there was/is of our conflict in Afghanistan with terrorists? I guess if you don’t see a war maybe it doesn’t really happen.
There are anti-drug commercials that say, in effect, if you buy drugs you may be supporting terrorism. It’s a good message, aimed at young kids. But right now Illinois is one of the states participating in THE BIG GAME, a lottery that has been rolling over and over without a winner until tonight it is at some gaudy amount like 151 million dollars! I guess the terrorist factions aren’t interested in that pile of cash or our country wouldn’t permit it, right? And what message are we sending to those 12 to 15 year-olds? The less-smart kids will do drugs no matter, and the smart ones will figure this all out and say “You do it mom and dad with the lottery, I support terrorists by buying drugs.” Kind of ruins the anti-drug campaign, doesn’t it?
Hmm…That movie The Ice Storm just came to mind again.
Vlad, my new banking buddy enlightened me. He said that my old bank, LaSalle is headquartered in The Netherlands, and Harris in Montreal, so when you watch those hometown bank commercials, get a chuckle. It’s another smokescreen.
