Solely responsible for internal network and systems including MS ISA server, Exchange Server, IIS, and SQL server. Planned and performed internal Exchange 2000 migration. Responsible for routine system maintenance as well as implementation of new projects for multiple clients in Northern Virginia and the Boston area. Responsible for documentation of system and network configurations as well as disaster recovery plans. Planned and performed Windows 2000 migration in a 50 user environment. Planned and performed a Novell 3.1 to Windows 2000 migration in a 30 user environment. Planned and implemented a complete office move to a new network environment supporting six servers. Responsible for supervision of Associate LAN Technicians and project management relating to a Citrix Metaframe deployment providing thin client desktops to 200 call center desktops. Performed installation of Compaq Proliant 7000 servers, NT Terminal Server, Citrix Metaframe 1.8, and integration of systems into a clustered server farm, as well as user profile and security policy development. Performed standardization and deployment of PC desktop software using the Ghost utility. Deployed Computer Telephony Integration technology, merging the phone and computer software systems.

 

LAN Manager (Contract)

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Memphis, TN, September 1998 to March 1999

Solely responsible for the day to day maintenance of a local ethernet network that utilized both Novell and NT servers in a mixed IP and IPX environment. Performed account management, PC setup, network tuning, and second level help desk support for over 75 local users and the Corps fleet, connected locally or via cellular dialup and/or satellite. Worked as part of a team performing the same duties for over a thousand users at locations throughout the Mississippi Valley. Also performed user training and recommendation for new purchases. Assisted in planning and implementation for multiple projects; Groupwise to Exchange/Outlook98 email system conversion, rollout of new security system, re-configuration of vessels from 10base2 to 10baseT including replacement of hubs/routers, and deployment of a Citrix based personnel system.

Assisted in an enterprise-wide development and rollout of a standard hardware/software platform to over 16000 users in a mixed Novell/NT environment. Assisted in development of a Migration Tracking database used for asset tracking, inventory, and storage of user and department information, also responsible for end-user training.
